Interestingly Servo isn't even in the comic. It's strange they'd put him so prominently on that cover. I guess we'll have to wait until issue three to see what happens to Servo in the Johnny Jason universe.

Review is up. Overall I liked this issue less than the previous, though Crow's storyline is a must-read.

I enjoyed issue 2, but I think these all will read much better in a trade paperback. It feels like they wrote a long comic book and then chopped it up into issues rather than releasing issues that assembled into a long story. Case in point: the abrupt cliffhanger to the Black Cat comic and a quick "see you next issue" at the end of Crow's comic.

Read the third, enjoyed it. Though it's overstuffed with 3 tales and the Mads segments squeezed in there. The Servo and Crow chapters worked best for me. The brief, running "pink" gag was a hoot. And I got a laugh out of a visual reference to the Seventh Seal... unfortunately they felt the need to explain the joke a few panels later -sigh- are they worried MSTies have gotten dumber? (they did the same thing with a quip in season 12)

Issue #4 is out today. Picked it up and I think it's one of the best ones so far! They seem to be getting a better hang of adapting riffing to comics, the jokes and visual gags were really good and are getting a little more creative. A great issue I'd say! Also for some reason, Grover has a oddly well-defined butt in one of the first pages.

Eh, same as it ever was... over stuffed, chaotic - humor is hit and miss, with the Crow segment once again the issues highlight. This is the direction they wanted to go with this miniseries, so it's not going to change. But it's just too 'all-over-the-place' for my taste.

This issue was a similar experience to issue two. Jonah's story was cluttered up and hard to follow (Black Cat seems like a poor choice for the comic) and Crow's story is hysterical. But it looks as if Crow's been sucked out of Horrific so I don't really know what to look forward to anymore. mst3krifftrax.blogspot.com/2019/02/the-buddhas-secretthe-clay-coffin.html

Issue #5 came out a few days ago. Was pretty good! Not much to say about this one but I like how the comic "worlds" are starting to collide more, and I'm looking forward to the last issue.
