So far this is the first one this season that I haven't fallen asleep during or given up before it was over.
I loved the Servo song in the middle about "concepts." Straight out of the Music Man, FYI. Laughed out loud for one of the few times this season (so far).

Laughed out loud for one of the few times this season (so far). Yeah, I didn’t like this one much the first time I saw it, but granted I watched it after a long day of holiday driving and fell asleep during the last 30 minutes. Just watched it for the second time (fully awake!) and it’s grown on me. It’s actually closest to the kind of weird ass movie I would have fully expected to see during the show’s original run. And the “Concepts!” song is an instant classic. Frankly, I think it’s even better than “Every Country Has a Monster”. There I said it. Don’t @ me.

Just saw this one. Haven't read the other posts yet.
I thought this movie wasn't too bad. Sure, it's lacking in production values and scripting. And there are still a bunch of unanswered questions (like how Jock Ewing figured out the whole "time/space warp" idea. Did he once work for U.N.I.T. or something?). But, they at least tried to give it a mysterious atmosphere, and the stop-motion effects were OK. It wasn't "good", but I wouldn't call it "bad", either.
The riffing was very good, and I liked the host segments (the scenes with Kinga & Max in the opening and Invention Exchange really had a Forrester/Frank vibe, I thought). The "Concepts" song turned out great.
{Spoiler} Larry's return pleasantly threw me for a loop. And I have a feeling we'll find out that those jars of ashes are just floor sweepings and Clay & Frank will show up again.
I'm far more interested in where this is going than in what happens in Episode IX.

Ok, I'll be honest, someone spoiled for me who made the return guest appearance in this episode, and it really made me not want to watch the theater segments and just watch the host segments (also my spare time is limited these days).
That was pretty cool that he came back, but.... his return appearance does raise some questions. Like, why do Kinga and Max know about him? I mean, I guess maybe Kinga met him when she was much younger, being Forrester's daughter and all, but Max?
Frank having been cremated adds a touch of fridge horror to Frank's send-off in ep. 624. I mean I just assumed his entire being ascended to a higher plane of existence, but the fact that he was cremated makes me wonder, was his dead body found laying around outside Deep 13 afterwards? That's..... dark.
Also, Dr. Forrester had a spaceship?

I liked this one. The movie was goofy and the riffing was fun. I'd probably put it ahead of Killer Fish, but behind Mac and Me and Lords of the Deep. Now that I'm almost done with Season 12, I'm really hoping for a Season 13 announcement soon. The reboot is getting so darn good, it would be a shame to end it now.
Overall rating, B or B+.

the biggest WTF kind of movie of The Gauntlet. So entertaining. Love this episode. The riffing wasn't quite up there with some of their absolute best efforts but the movie is so batshit and random it elevates the whole thing. Concepts song was amazing. Loved the cameo. A new classic.
