How likely do you think it is that we get another season of MST3K? Netflix hasn't said anything about it yet, and I'm getting kind of worried.

We're barely two months removed from the release. It took a long time for season 12 to be announced even after the success of season 11. I don't think there's any reason to worry now or for quite a while yet.

Filming on season 12 didn’t start until the beginning of June. Assuming they need a month or two to write six episodes, they’re probably in good shape time wise for a Turkey Day release.

I just hope that they spend more time on season 13. For me, season 12 seemed pretty rushed, especially since they were trying to get it released on Thanksgiving day. I just don't want another 6 episode season.

I’m betting 6 episodes is the norm now. Unless Netflix discovers people watched all six and then went back to watch six episodes of season 11 or something.

Oh, I know 6 episodes will most likely be the average season length from now on, but a man can dream.

I would really like to see them ditch Netflix and get an app for all us cord cutters. Maybe have a minimal monthly charge. They can also do another Kickstarter to get the funds to start another season without Netflix and move forward.

Not very likely at all. They will, of course, skip directly to Season 14 for the sake of their triskaidekaphobic fans.

Once again, I just want the episodes done well and funny. If I have to wait, that's OK. Hey, I waited three years to find out if Vader was telling the truth, and 19 years for Paul McGann to return to his practice on TV.

They can also do another Kickstarter to get the funds to start another season without Netflix and move forward. That would certainly make it harder to attract new viewers. Why pay for something you're not already a fan of? I wasn't wild about having to pick up Netflix streaming when the new seasons came out, either, but it's been worth it in the end. I'd rather pay $11 per month for their streaming library that includes MST3K than $2 or whatever it would be for just MST3K. Maybe it would be a viable option for those who absolutely don't want Netflix, but Netflix just puts too many eyes in front of the screen for the show. I don't think you'd want to abandon that.

I'd almost prefer a basic cable channel at this point. About the same amount of exposure. Probably more episodes per season. And they'd be spaced out so a season runs a few months instead of a day and there's less downtime.

The bigger question though is if Joel and company can even afford to make a season 13.
According to the second fundraiser for season 12, they lose about $100K per episode and they didn't make all that money back in the fundraiser, falling $200K short. Add that the Kickstarter was not enough to cover season 11's cost in the first place, MST3K as it is right now is an unprofitable venture for its producers. I don't know how much more money Shout and Joel and his company are willing to throw on the fire.

They should have stuck to 8-10 episodes for Season 11 rather than trying to stretch it out to 14 eps. The quality would have probably been better too had they focused on fewer episodes. I for one was glad we got a Season 12 at all, and 6 episodes seemed very reasonable. I'd be very happy just to see the live shows (EEGAH, ARGOMAN, THE BRAIN and DEATHSTALKER II) done up as Season 13.

People keep saying that, but nah, I'm glad they went to 14. If only for Carnival Magic (the 12th ep). I also liked the 13th (The Christmas That Almost Wasn't). I don't think the quality for season 12 was significantly better for cutting back to 6 eps. For me it was a middle groove season. Nothing real low, but nothing real high... and 12 at least had some real high quality eps.
I wonder if it would be cheaper to film the live shows. What more are you investing in? Camera's, some different lighting or sound equipment. Production costs And the crew? What did that tour cost on it's own, what did they make back (or lose)?
