Probably not super big news, but I thought it would be kinda interesting to share. I was hoping they would swap episodes for a while and I'm glad they're doing it. What episodes would you want to see? Personally, I mostly want to see a better season 1 rep (not a fan of Aztec Mummy) and maybe something from season 7 as well like Laserblast.
Also wahoo my first thread. I feel so special.

Since they got the rights back to Final Sacrifice, I'd hope they'd bring that back.

I heard Final Sacrifice is a pretty famous episode and I've never seen it before. So, yeah I'd be pretty excited to see it.

Honestly, I think it's pretty piss poor that they only have ten episodes and removed ALL of the classics that were up before. However, I haven't seen a single one of these episodes yet. So, at least there's something new for me to check out. What do you think, peoples?

I love The Day the Earth Froze, it's one of my favorites. Gunslinger is also pretty funny and The Beast of Yucca Flats is just OUT THERE. So, I may do some re-watching.

I haven't watched on Netflix yet, but my version of Gungslinger on VHX shows as being as the same length as the version on Netflix.

LOVE these episodes!
The only one out of that bunch I don't care for is Gunslinger, which I found dull. But, I've yet to give it a proper second chance. Season 5 is a high point of the show, and they did a lot of great episodes around then. Maybe it's worth another look...

Gunslinger is a slow burn episode. I'm not the biggest fan of it myself, but I acknowledge that the writing is absolutely superb. The film doesn't give them much to work with but they squeeze every single drop out of it that they can, which is rather impressive. And if that film had been used in, say, Season 6, even, the results wouldn't of been as good. A testament to just how great the writing was in the first half of Season 5.

They certainly did edit out the commercial bumps. Come on, they're like what, 8 seconds a bump? Did they REALLY need to be cut out? Yeah, Netflix really messed up imo.

They're closer to 5 seconds. And the older episodes, with the "Home of the Big G Burger" diorama bumpers are my faves, they add real personality to the episodes. A damn shame.
What Netflix bigwig said "We like the classic episodes, but lose the 5 second bumpers! People will zone out!"?

I actually kinda love this list, though. I've seen thirty percent of them, and that's it. Really targeting the gaps in my knowledge! Time to go watch more, I think.
As for them removing all the previous ones: it's a bummer, but maybe they can keep MST3K rights by having a sort of "rolling license" approach. Not a perfect solution, but hey, I'll take it.
