If the show wasn't cancelled, they probably would have riffed GoAnimate! The Movie by now.

while i like the show, i think sooner or later, the show would have (as Rifftrax Live Mothra said) had to shut it down sometime. I don't think it needed to shut down. It needed to change. I could see it doing a Doctor Who type of thing. Change the cast and writers every few years. Joel left and Mike took his place. Then Frank left and they did a short season without him. Then they went to SCIFI and Trace left was replaced by two people Mary Jo as a mad and Bill as Crow and Brain Guy. Replacing the writers and cast every few years gives new ideas. Near the end of the show it was clear that the show was burning out. Maybe it was time for a change in cast. Bill was new but Kevin and Mike had been doing the show for 9+ years. MST3k ended in 1999 and Rifftrac's started in 2006. The break seemed to be really helpful for Mike, Kevin and Bill. The grind of a TV show grinds people down. Rifftracs is a grind but its not the same as a TV show. If Mike, Bill and Kevin get the flu they can take a few days off. (Not too often but every year or two won't kill the business.) You can't do that with TV deadlines.
