Folks. Folks. FOLKS.
Whew. Ok, so I got the shipment in the mail that the guy in the Facebook group sent me of what his wife taped of Turkey Day 92 and...
Its 8 tapes. The first tape had an early airing of This Is MST3K with a Turkey Day promo included that not even Tom Noel had ever seen.
Tape 2 started at 208, exactly where the guy from Reddit's Turkey Day tape ended. I'm on Tape 4, 9 more episodes of TD 92 so far, 12 total for 24 hours out of 30...SO FAR. We might just find the whole 30 freaking hours! I'm SO stoked!

That sounds awesome Diet Kolos. Back in 1992 we only got Comedy Central for 12 hours a day. VH1 had the other 12. I never could see or tape the entire marathons. Oh and I also had to drive to my parents or sisters place to do some family eating stuff. So I missed it then also. Bring on the tapes.

That sounds awesome Diet Kolos. Back in 1992 we only got Comedy Central for 12 hours a day. VH1 had the other 12. Me too! Chapped my ass when they did Kids in the Hall marathons and I could only tape some of it. I later learned they had different cuts of KITH that were censored to different degrees depending on how early in the day they showed them, so it was probably for the best that I only ever taped the evening broadcasts... this is of course all rendered absolutely moot by virtue of the fact that it's a buyer's market for KITH on DVD now. Sorry for straying from the topic. Turkey Day 92 sounds amazing. Hope we get the whole thing some day! Good on ya for getting us closer!

So as it turns out, they taped all of Turkey Day 92, except the aforementioned first three episodes AND the third-to-last episode, 320-The Unearthly, as they had previously taped it that Halloween. Nor did they tape This is MST3K that aired after the marathon, but they did take the bumper for it. So not a total victory, but pretty darn close.

I'm already starting work on some of Turkey day 92 now. As a preview I uploaded some of the promos, including the rare promo only aired once.

WW has struck, both versions of 201 have been removed, both the Broadcast version and the BBI Vault Tape. Complete with a full copyright strike. Up yours, you greedy old coot. I hope you don't earn a cent on RXM while you're still in this mortal coil.
I might make 101, 104, 109 & 208 unlisted just so he doesn't wipe me out with copyright strikes.
I may re-upload one or both at Archive, but I've heard he's striking there as well, so I may wait awhile.

I don't know what the hell Wade's deal is. His movies aren't worth anything. So, I have no idea what he's getting out of taking down MST3K episodes. He's a coward, I say. I'm still struggling to find a place to upload my IFC editions of MST3K. Maybe Bitchute would be a good alternative, but I also want people to able to download them and keep them circulating. And I'm not sure if Bitchute has a download video feature. I wish you luck on finding those broadcast editions a new home.

And I'm not sure if Bitchute has a download video feature. Everything has a download feature, with the right browser extension. Which means the people who want to download something badly enough will find a way to do it.

DailyMotion is a possibility. I've had movies on there for years with never so much as a notification of possible copyright violation.

Looks like our old pal WW is up to his old tricks again. I posted the Broadcast Edition of 423, and it was removed a few hours later with a community guideline removal, thankfully no strike.
The guideline removal notification was entirely vague and could relate to hundreds of things, but I assume it's because in the video description I obliquely mentioned WW removing my 201 videos, and that he claims ownership over the movie in 423 (which he doesn't, it's public domain). If he owned it, he would have gone for the copyright strike, but he doesn't, so he went another route.
I'm going to have to review the entire video for content now and reupload over the weekend.

Perhaps this isn't the place, but regarding Williams, I'm re-reading Bill Warren's Keep Watching the Skies (the original 20th century edition), and it's both refreshing and depressing to note that even as long ago as 1982, some in film circles regarded his actions towards his own films detrimental. For example, from the chapter on Rocketship XM:
Obviously today we don't have to worry about expensive video tape, or unreasonable rental prices. Instead, we have to worry about the availability (or lack thereof) of his films, which haven't been released on home format since Image handled his catalog approx. 20 years ago.
Incidentally, when MST featured the episode in 1990, licensed from the then-TV rightsholder (not Williams), the version used featured the original 1950 special fx. I don't believe the film has been available that way, outside of MST, since the 1980s.
Wade sucks.

Everything has a download feature, with the right browser extension. Which means the people who want to download something badly enough will find a way to do it. That's true, but some places (like Youtube) add compression that make the files sub-optimal for downloading/archiving purposes.

Went thorough the video again today, edited out anything that was too risque or offensive or inappropriate (mostly a rather spicy stand-up set from Marsha Warfield on Pepsi's A-List at the end), removed any oblique references to WW in the video description, reuploaded and it was STILL flagged. So our friend really doesn't want the episode up. I've submitted an appeal and hopefully the episode will be back up in 24 hours.
