*sigh*
It was removed again. Well, he's nothing if not persistent. Almost makes one think he peruses the forum...

I really don't get what their end goal is here. Why are these people so determined to stop people from uploading their half century old films that literally nobody cares about? In some instances, they're trying to stop people from uploading films they don't even own. I can sorta understand why Toho does this, but even then some of their practices could be described as totalitarian. I'll say it again. Just get a life.

Well, I appealed and it was immediately overturned, naturally. Keeping the video unlisted for awhile, just so I don't have to keep doing this over and over.

Thanks. Sorry for not updating the thread. Getting all the links formatted correctly is a bear. But yes, 92 is done. 91 is 80% done, still missing the final 3 episodes. And when fully uploaded, 93 will be ~65% done. I'm missing the vast majority of 94 and I'm pretty sure I have most of 95 somewhere. After I upload a few misc odds and ends, I'll finish up the latest batch of mylungswereaching 's tapes which will finish up Season 5 and take us through early 1994 with later bits mixed in. I also bought a big batch of tapes off Reddit with most of 1994 covered, July-November and a bunch of Season 6 premieres. AND... I purchased some episodes from the Comedy Channel era circa 1990. The person only had files, not tapes, and he used DVD versions for episodes, but spliced in the original 1990 commercials. So not a total win, but with how hard it is to find that stuff, beggars can't be choosers.

I've been enjoying them, usually have them on in the background while I am doing things around the house, its neat to see and hear the commercials from back then as well.

Watching with the commercials is great, because they will actually reference the commercials sometimes! "Sure, we all do!" Adds a whole 'nother dimension!

Finished watching the "Escape 2000" broadcast edition. I thought it turned out OK. At this juncture, The First Network Which Shall Remain Nameless was heavily promoting a special from the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. Hey, beats endless promos for "Dream On" or "Politically Incorrect".

An unintended consequence of these Broadcast Editions I've run across is now there's suddenly a glut of people selling their Comedy Central tapes from the early 90s on eBay, explicitly listing that they include commercials; and they're either selling them individually for fifteen bucks a pop per tape, or at way over inflated prices for a set, ie, 99 bucks for a set of 7.
Whereas when I started this, you'd be lucky to run across ANY tapes from prior to 1994, and most people sold them in bulk for cheap.

A few days ago, I was watching the Broadcast Edition of "Hellcats". This must've been from its original airing, or pretty close to it. The promos were for CTV, which was the channel's brief name after the Comedy Channel/Ha! merger, before it became The First Network Which Shall Remain Nameless. This was back in the day of "Night After Night" and "Sports Monster", as well as re-runs of "Lancelot Link", "The Jack Benny Program", "The Lucy Show" and "Phyllis". It was a more innocent time.

A little update with some roadmapping for the future. Finishing up tonight on mylungswereaching 's tapes. Just have to do some reconstruction on the final episode. The back half of his most recent shipment was from 1996, so going to hold off on uploading those for awhile. Then I wait for his next shipment to see what goodies he has in store. In the meantime, I bought some more tapes from 1991, with which I'll be able to fill some holes, notably the premiere of 315 and some episodes from October '91, the last month before the Penn Jillette rebrand. I've also bought some tapes with some season 5 premieres I was missing, notably 501, 502, 512, 513, 514 and 518. So look forward to those. After that, I've got some reruns from Feb-May '94, then the premieres of the first half of Season 6, Jul-Oct. After that, I haven't roadmapped it in detail, but I do have some Nov 94 episodes and some Turkey Day 94 with Adam West. Then there's 95 and 96, which may be a bit spotty, but we'll see. After that, I have the premieres of all the Sci-Fi eps, but it'll take awhile to get to those.

I may or may not have bought some tapes from Fall 1990 with the original broadcasts of some Season 2 episodes on The Comedy Channel.
