Watched the Broadcast Edition of "Warrior of the Lost World" last week. From the promos, it seemed like the programming for The First Network Which Shall Remain Nameless was basically just MST, Kids in the Hall, and stand-up shows at that point. Or, at least that was what they were pushing during the broadcast.

Is there a possibility of getting the premiere broadcast of The Dead Talk Back? I’m pretty sure my personal copy is that recording but I want to double check on YouTube

Per my records, I should have a copy of the premiere. I'll try to get it up by the end of the week.

From the promos, it seemed like the programming for The First Network Which Shall Remain Nameless was basically just MST, Kids in the Hall, and stand-up shows at that point. Or, at least that was what they were pushing during the broadcast. Me and my buddy discovered MST3K in college when our dorm room had this channel we had never heard of before called Comedy Central. This was fall of 93 and we would watch CC almost every day. They had just about exactly four shows -- Who's Line Is it Anyway (British version), Soap, Kids in the Hall. Being that we had never seen any of those, it was great! One night when we were bored of Conan, we switched over to CC and instead of one of those, there was some old movie on, but then 3 little silhouettes in the corner mocking the movie. It was awesome. The best part was it was on EVERY night, with apparently dozens and dozens of eps. Our routine became watching Conan's opening and first skit with Andy, and then flipping over to MST3K at midnight. BTW, they also had about 3 sponsors so you would get to see the same 3 commercials over and over all day and night. And yes, MST3K was definitely their big draw. All week long there would be commercials for the new Saturday ep. I still remember the commercial for the 'new' host coming this week. I think we watched the premiere.

So it turns out THIS recording is the one I have actually, not the premiere. Regardless, thanks for posting! The Mst Zombie Nightmare promo with Gypsy feels….. rushed. Almost like they KNEW they were going to end up holding that episode anyway.

MST3k, the Simpsons, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Saturday Night Live, Kids in the Hall, Red Dwarf, Mr. Bean, and so many other great shows. The early 90s was a golden age for comedy, IMO.

This week, I watched the Broadcast Edition of "Cave Dwellers". I'm pretty sure it was recorded from the episode premiere. First, the promos were from TFNWSRN of that era, like "Sports Monster", "Night After Night", "Inside the Comedy Mind" and "Short Attention Span Theater". And, during the end credits, the voice over plug for next week's show was for "Gamera", which was indeed the next show in the lineup. And the plug was not done by Penn Jillette! I'd almost forgotten there was a time when his voice wasn't omnipresent on the channel.

The original voice of The Comedy Channel/CTV/Comedy Central was Billy West (Ren & Stimpy, red M&M, Fry from Futurama). They didn't get Penn until October 1991, after most of Season 3 had premiered.

So for the last year I've been having issues sourcing new DVD+R's for the project, which ground things to a halt. Finally found a new source so things can start back up in earnest. To celebrate, here's a new Broadcast Edition, the finale of Turkey Day 95. 701T-Turkey Day '95

This is mostly just because I'm curious to see more 1996 airings of reruns, but two broadcast airings I would love to see appear are the final airing of Mitchell on 12/29 at 10 AM and the final airing of Angels Revenge on 12/30 at 2 AM.
