Check out some photos from wildlife photographer Dmitry Kokh at dmitrykokh.com of polar bears who have taken over a once-inhabited-now-deserted island in the Russian Arctic. (Kolyuchin Island, it used to be a meteorological research station). They've taken up residence in the houses.

This is from an article in Time Magazine from 2015.
A man and his wife had a baby using in vitro. The man decided to have a paternity test and the baby's DNA didn't match his completely, it was a very small percentage. The parents were baffled because only the husband gave a sperm sample. They were wondering if the lab mixed things up. But since some of the DNA did match, it was weird.
The doctors realized that the percentage of DNA that matched was usually like the result as if it were from an uncle or cousin.
Further tests revealed that the man himself was a Chimera and only had 90% of his own DNA and 10% of his unborn non-identical twin's which had been absorbed in the womb. (Because it had happened in the womb, his body retained it and his immune system hadn't perceived it as a foreign invader). The man also had patches of skin that were darker because his twin would've had slightly darker skin than himself.
So an unborn person was able, in essence, to have a child. Pretty remarkable that this man had another piece of his brother that he hadn't known he'd even had.
The couple had already had a child, so the man is father to one and "uncle" to his other.
Pretty damn interesting.

NASA had launched the S.S. Sally Ride spacecraft a few days ago from Virginia (bringing supplies to the ISS) and it's path could be seen from South Carolina to Massachusetts and it looked like a fireball and people were wondering if that's what it was, but it was the launch. Anyway, I was looking at comments online and someone who denies the existence of space (??!! - get a friggin' telescope, dope) was mentioning that - (paraphrasing) "of course it's going sideways, as usual." Yep. That's right, folks. EVERYTHING in the whole stinkin' UNIVERSE is "straight up" relative to where ANY rocket is launched. It doesn't have to be launched then when it reaches a certain altitude, adjust it's trajectory toward WHERE IT'S GOING. Mmm hmm. We live on a pancake, not a globe. Holy effing sh*t.

The YouTube channel "P&K" has some great videos of the moon and planets using some really awesome telescopes.
