I've been watching a lot of Rifftrax recently, I'd never cared for it before, but inclusion of it on Amazon Prime led me to watching quite a few, and I can now say I'm a modest fan.
However, having said that, I've seen some of their re-riffs of MST movies, including The Magic Sword recently, and...I REALLY wish they wouldn't. It's cheap nostalgia-bait, and worse yet, it REALLY emphasizes the big gulf in writing quality and density between the 2 ventures. But I guess they pull in eyes and money, so who am I to complain.
In any case, I might donate. I probably won't. But I'm more open to it than I used to be.

They always have a stretch goal where you get 10 Rifftrax shorts for any pledge over $1, so it's usually worth throwing a buck at them at least.

It's the very definition of 'one for them, one for us.'

This ends tonight. All the monetary stretch goals are unlocked, but there are still a few based on backer numbers that can unlock.
$1 will get you 10 shorts (or $1 in Rifftrax credit for each short you own) and a song about one of the riffed movies.

They’ve pushed the 2020 movies to 2021, June for Hobgoblins and October for Amityville 4.
They are going to debut a new VOD in theaters, Jack-O, on Oct. 21. It will be on sale on RiffTrax at a later date.
RiffTrax will be riffing Starship Troopers with a polished versions of the 2013 live show script, on Sept. 29. This will be using the Scener tech they used for Stranger Things. Hopefully it works a lot better now, since it will be $10 to watch (Kickstarter backers I’ll be able to watch it for free).

I watched the beta test of the Scener set-up with "Daredevil" last week. Seems like they've ironed out the kinks.
I'm planning on watching "Starship Troopers", but I'll have to miss "Jack-O". It seems it's only being shown on Oct. 21st, and I'll be away visiting my Mom. It'll be only the second in-theater RT event I've missed; the other one was "The Room". Oh, well.

So, who made it to "Jack-O" and how did it go? I've seen a couple of reports that it turned out OK.

It was a good riff. It was kind of presented like a faux live show, where we had little bumpers of Mike, Kevin, and Bill in a recording booth having some banter. They even opened with a short, which was the same Halloween Safety short that Trace and Frank did during their show.
Cheesy movie, solid laughs, good time.

Probably worth an update here that these now have dates. Hobgoblins will be Aug. 17, Amityville 4 is Oct. 26.
