Maybe bad flashbacks to the Scener events earlier this year, or general Zoom fatigue? Live streams just suck. I think RiffTrax is sitting at a 70% fail rate for when they do live things. Actually, I think that's the fail rate for about all of them. Bad audio, bad video, dropped feeds, clogged networks. It's crap. If they say they are new recorded shorts, I believe it, but I won't be watching them in a live stream. I'll wait until I can get nice quality recordings of them to watch at me leisure (pronounced lezhure).

The Mads' live streams have gone pretty well (I think the audio on the last movie was a little low).

Last night's had some acknowledged issues with Trace, but if they didn't bring it up at the end, I wouldn't have noticed or cared.
Though I will say using Rifftrax's live streams as an example of live streams being garbage is like using a worst case scenario against an entire content product. It's like living in the 80's and standing outside of a theater playing Raiders of the Lost Ark and saying "Pffft. I saw 1941. I'm not wasting money on anything else made by that Spielberg hack."

They did technically riff together in the Rifftrax Live MST Reunion show, but that was a free-for-all. If what majorjoe said above is correct, then it sounds like they won't technically be riffing "together", having recorded their parts at separate times, and then likely had someone else run the puppets to record the shadowrama. It's really a shame that it keeps being done this way, as I personally believe it's apparent in the vibe of the final product. But I understand how much easier, cheaper, and faster it is nowadays to do it MST3K Season 11 style and piecemeal it. It probably seems not-at-all-worth-it to them to arrange a time out of all of their schedules to meet up together just to do something that can be easily done remotely.

If they all lived in the same city it would be much easier.

I noticed the lack of Trace during the Halloween short, and I was concerned. As with the hitches during the RT shows, I could sympathize with the techs running around during a live show, desperately trying to figure out the problem. Fortunately, it was only for a few minutes. By the way, that Halloween short has been posted on YouTube with the Mads' riffing. From the sound of it, either they managed to restore Trace's audio, or the riffing track is from a previously recorded version. Well, it's funny, and now I can see two versions of it, which is kind of nice.

I'm looking forward to Friday night's show; sounds like it should be good. And on the previous night, there's a live stream presentation of "Plan 9" led by Dana Gould, and featuring Jonah and Baron in the cast. I should be able to fit in a listen to Orson Welles' "War of the Worlds", and viewings of "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein" and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". This may turn out to be a pretty good Halloween after all.

I've never seen Joel and Bill riff together. This should be fun. Me neither! I'm lookin' forward to it. I missed them together at the MST Reunion, so this'll be nice. ...assuming I can watch it while at work.

Here we go, looks like the live group is hosting. Just saw a clown sing. Now Servo and Chonky are reciting Poe, pretty dumb.
--- it's getting better as it's going. Joel is so gushing over Wayne White, for good reason, but it's funny to see Joel geek out over something he has a real passion for (and I agree, Randy rocks!)
--- Great to see Joel, Bill, Josh and Jonah together. And the Jack-o-lantern song was a hoot. But the real appeal was the two shorts, and they didn't disappoint. Love seeing the shadowrama/having this trio in the theater. I do hope they sell these shorts as a download someday.

That was fun. I hope they can do more if they ever have the time or inclination. In any combination of cast members.

That was cool to hear Josh's Servo riff for the first time in 30 years. Combine that with the mind-bending of having Bill's Crow there with Joel to boot. We like it VERY MUCH! It was like an alternate universe's Season 6

Saw both shorts along with the show. Good to see Josh actually get more spotlight as Servo.

Note: you can still watch the shorts on YouTube now that the broadcast is over.
I think the first was a little better than the second, but they were both good. Josh's audio seemed a little lower than the other guys', though. Did anyone else have trouble hearing him at times?
