Ideally, they're hoping for something public domain, and probably not Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, since it's been done to death now.

I will laugh so hard if they do Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

Part of me wouldn't mind, since there's already a version editing together the existing three riffs. Why not add a fourth? Also, Frank and Trace would likely go a little darker than the others.

The problem is most of the good holiday movies that I can think of have already had a Rifftrax flag planted in them. Someone needs to go really obscure, and likely public domain, and I don't have a knowledge that deep.
Ones that I'd recommend would likely be in the wrong direction of way too expensive, like Silent Night, Deadly Night or that really awful Black Christmas remake last year.

Yeah I was looking at Wikipedia's so-so article about public domain movies for some possibilities, but I think finding a cheesy holiday film in the public domain and which hasn't been riffed before isn't as easy as it might seem. I think the best bet might be something tenuously related to the holidays and not another Santa movie.

They just announced it. They're riffing "Santa Claus" (or, it seems, it'll be under the title "Santa Claus vs. the Devil"). This'll be a very rare three-fer, as it would've also been riffed by both MST and RT. The only other movie that achieved that, to the best of my knowledge, is "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians", riffed on by MST, RT and CT.
Oh, and "Brain from Planet Arous" was very funny, as was the Q&A with guest star Dana Gould.

Once again, I forgot about this. (Even though I get reminder emails ). Did anyone watch this? How was it?

Probably my least favorite Mads show so far, and the least Santa Claus riff of the three. But it was still fun, and I was in stitches during the post-show.

Since the original is one of my top 3 MST eps, any follow-up would have to feature God-level riffing to get out from under that shadow. So keeping that in mind, I didn't think it was their funniest (That might be their last one, The Brain from Planet Arous) -and it was the edited version, so they had no new scenes to riff on- but there were big laughs to be had. So not a waste of time by any means, I'm glad I attended, but not my favorite of the bunch.
And I'd suggest buying a ticket early, get it out of the way - and even if you forget and miss the live show, they send you a download so you can watch it any time you want.
