Hi, everyone! First time poster here. I thought I might as well post what I would love to see for Volume XL (both likely and extremely unlikely scenarios).
THE POSSIBLE VOLUME XL
416- FIRE MAIDENS FROM OUTER SPACE
905- THE DEADLY BEES
906- THE SPACE CHILDREN with short: CENTURY 21 CALLING...
913- QUEST OF THE DELTA KNIGHTS
Considering that Quest of the Delta Knights is already on Shout! Factory TV, I wouldn't think that it would be unlikely that this boxset shouldn't happen. One Joel episode, three Mike episodes, one short, plus the addition of Season 9 joining Seasons, 1, 5-7, and 10 as seasons that have been completely released in some way or another.
THE DREAM VOLUME XL
309- THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN
311- IT CONQUERED THE WORLD with short: SNOW THRILLS
416- FIRE MAIDENS FROM OUTER SPACE
418- ATTACK OF THE THE EYE CREATURES
807- TERROR OF THE YEAR 5000
809- I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. What else does XL mean? Extra large. So why not have an extra large helping of MST goodness? Six episodes, four from Joel (completing Seasons 3 and 4), and two from Mike (completing Season 8). If I was in charge of what to supply or add to this set, this is what I would do:
THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN EXTRAS:
The MST Hour Wraps (Obviously. I would have this highlighted and underlined ten thousand times so that Shout! don't forget it, like they have previously. Plus, you might as well add WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST's wraps as well. I know that the wraps would be better on the DVD of the actual episode it's in. But they didn't do that. Might as well not waste them)
Making The Amazing Colossal Movie (Ballyhoo would be fantastic at documentaries on how any of the Susan Hart owned movies would be made. It would be good to know from Bert I. Gordon himself how the film was made and how iconic to the B-Movie genre it has become)
Intro by Joel (or Frank, or Trace, or Mike, or anyone really. It would be good to know their thoughts on the episode)
IT CONQUERED THE WORLD EXTRAS:
The MST Hour Wraps (Again, obviously. The full thing as well. No more "oopsies" from Shout! The full MST Hour Wraps, both segments)
Frank About Frank (A documentary about Frank Zappa's love for It Conquered The World and his connection to MST3K. Why not? I think it would be good)
Intro by Trace (or... you know the rest)
FIRE MAIDENS FROM OUTER SPACE EXTRAS:
This is MST3K (Now, this would only work if Susan Hart agreed to have her films licensed, and in this fantasy scenario, she did. I think it would be a perfect addition for fans to own a good copy that is remastered by Shout!)
Put That On Stillstore (a Ballyhoo documentary about the people who had their letter shown on MST3K, talking about their love for the show and how they felt when their letter was on the show. Again, why not? It'll be interesting to hear from some of them, how they were introduced to the show, and how they felt about their letter, if they were happy with their answers or if they were annoyed if their letter was ignored)
ATTACK OF THE THE EYE CREATURES EXTRAS:
The MST Hour Wraps
Intro by Frank (or... you know the rest)
...yeah, I don't know what else I could have done here. You might say I just didn't care.
TERROR OF THE YEAR 5000 EXTRAS:
Intro by Bill (or... you know the rest. Maybe an intro with both Mike and Bridget?)
MST3K: The Home Game (Dream scenario extra, I know, but it would be good to actually see one in high quality. Though I worry about the tapes of this one. It could be really damaged for all I know)
I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF EXTRAS:
Intro by Mary Jo (or... you know the rest)
Susan Hart Speaks! (An absolute dream scenario one. She would hate doing it, but it would be good to know what she experienced during The Slime People)
Why not include more?! Add the Poople DVD as an actual part of the DVD set. Maybe a whole DVD of all the missing MST Hours Wraps? Something to add to this extra large boxset! Maybe even some KTMA? Again, this is a dream scenario.
THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM VOLUME XL
201- ROCKETSHIP X.M.
213- GODZILLA VS. THE SEA MONSTER
309- THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN
311- IT CONQUERED THE WORLD with short: SNOW THRILLS
416- FIRE MAIDENS FROM OUTER SPACE
418- ATTACK OF THE THE EYE CREATURES
807- TERROR OF THE YEAR 5000
809- I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF
905- THE DEADLY BEES
906- THE SPACE CHILDREN with short: CENTURY 21 CALLING...
913- QUEST OF THE DELTA KNIGHTS
Yes. Every episode that hasn't been released. Hence the Impossible Dream bit. Maybe XLI and XLII could be KTMA volumes? Impossible. Hence the... you know.
THE PROBABLE FUTURE
Shout! Factory has said that Volume XXXIX is the final volume ever. The only thing from these episodes that will be released is the segments from the Satellite Discs and that's it. And any possible future for episodes will only be put on Shout! Factory TV. I don't believe that. I don't believe that this is the end of MST Volumes. Or for MST DVDs. There could be a future volume. It's really up to Shout! to try to get these films. Some could be impossible, but then again, we have the Gamera volume. That was considered impossible for years. And now, we have it. Well, had it. And now we have it again! I don't think that this is the end of MST releases. Maybe there are some Special Releases along the way, but we can only hope.
Well, what would you love to see for a future Volume XL? Go wild with it! I would love some of these ideas to go ahead if they decide to have something like Fire Maidens, or a Ballyhoo documentary about Deadly Bees or Delta Knights. Maybe The Home Game will get a release. Tell me what you think!
