Okay, so obviously these answers will change once we get details, but it's only for funsies. Maybe we can do a second poll next week after the KS has been out awhile.

I don't know. I told myself before launch that I would do a Max bid of $20 - $25 just so I could have some say when it comes out. But in order to even get 3 months of that streaming service is $35 and to get digital downloads of any episodes is $100 and I frankly don't feel like giving them that much money.

Yeah, I went with $0 for now. We'll see how the KS shapes up, but I can't imagine it changing enough to sway me. Like you said DK, I'm not giving them $100.

No. But I sincerely wish them luck. It looks like they're off to a good start and hopefully they'll have no trouble meeting their goal. Frankly, I'm totally content with the 197 classic MST3K episodes & movie -- not dumping on the revived series, but it took the Netflix reboot and all since for me to realize this. It doesn't make sense for me to spend any amount of money on something I don't want.
And although I was sorely disappointed by the new iterations of MST3K, I still understand that its success helps extend the life of the original series. There are still episodes of the original show yet unreleased: whether that's a case of current rightsholders passing on or simply waiting for the copyright terms to expire, the point is that we basically need MST3K to remain a viable brand as long as possible to hold out hope of seeing official copies of the unreleased episodes.

I pledged for the minimum, for $15, because I want to be able to get updates and see comments in the future, not because I support the idea of a new subscription service. It's like buying an admission ticket to the show.

No, but I hope it's a success. After the episodes come out, I might buy the DVD set or a subscription, especially if I read good reviews, but I'm not one to back Kickstarters in general. I did back the first one, but only with a very small amount, and only because I wanted to add to the total # of backers in order to show the big networks and streaming platforms the size of MST3k's fan base. Since Joel is going independent this time around, I don't feel the need to do that.

I was a very large backer of the first campaign, but I haven't decided yet if I'm in for this one.

I'm thinking. Maybe 35 dollars if they only get enough for 3 episodes, 50 if they get enough for 6+.
I figure since they're being made 1 at a time (supposedly) there's a real chance for growth as they're made. After 3-6 episodes I should get a pretty good idea if the subscription service is worth my money from there on out. I'd still like to know how much the service is going to be for people coming post-Kickstarter. I'll probably wait a few days until they release more info before I pull the trigger.

I pledged for this one. I thought the Netflix seasons were OK, though not perfect, and I really enjoyed the live shows. I'm interested in seeing how this new idea will pan out.

No. I didn't for the last one because of personal stuff going on, and wasn't impressed with what we ended up with. It is the main reason I have Netflix, though. I just never watched all of the reboot episodes.

This will be interesting to see our own little microcosm here. Not just the $ results but the number of responses. I don't know if we can figure out how many board members KSed last time, but we could compare to the most recent poll.
The Thought's on the reboot in a retrospective? post had 36 responders. Right now, this one has 10 responders with 6 votes that they pledged.

I did the $100. If we get 12 episodes, it's worth it to me. I used to pay that much each year for three new Shout! box sets (sometimes more). And they throw in a shirt and some other shwag, plus I'll get to see what's up with the Gizmoplex thing as it happens all year. At this rate, I'm fine with digital downloads. Discs would be nice, but I don't want to wait a year for them to be produced. And I don't need another bonus disc where I get to see all the new crew doing things like puppeteer, when my brain screams that should be Baron and Hampton's job. So, I'm good with just the episodes.

I plan to donate something. I need to take a long and hard look at my finances over the next couple of weeks as I plan around a couple of life events, but I should have some left over, and a part of that will likely go to this kickstarter. In previous hypothetical discussions about new Kickstarters I was sort of on the fence since I 1) wanted new MST3K, but also 2) didn't wanna pay out of pocket for new episodes forever. However, I'm intrigued by the Gizmoplex concept... while part of it feels like "another streaming service", it also seems different enough from that in concept that I wanna mull over what we're being told about it. Case in point, I'm a big fan of Dropout, which follows a slightly different format than your Netflixes, Hulus, and Pluses Disney and Paramount.
Having said that, they're already comfortably beyond the 2 million dollar donation, so my contribution likely won't amount to more than me just deciding which supporter merch I wanna buy for the pricetag.

So with it being pointed out yesterday that Joel gave an interview to AV Club where he laid out his vision for Season 13 as being shot totally remotely, I don't plan on backing. That's not the progress I was hoping for when it comes to making the show, its backsliding in the wrong direction.
Maybe things will change and by the end of the KS enough cast/crew will be vaxxed or they'll find a way to do it all safely in-person, or Joel will say something contrary to that interview. But as it is, I'm not going to give money to something I already view as broken that Joel plans to break further.
Edit: I mean, towards the end of Season 13 production, since their supposedly making the shows 1 at a time, it could go to a "normal" in-person production. But at this point there's no guarantees of that, and I'd have to back it at a level to get a 6+ month subscription just to see if they do change anything.
I'll wait to hear more, but as it stands, I'm a no on funding.
