I'm very surprised by the amount they've raised so far -- over $750k! In the other thread, I said this Kickstarter wasn't going to break $1 million and it's already looking like it'll do that on the first day!
What's going on?

Looks like a lot of people are going for the $250 reward tier of the boxset.

The average donation being twice as much as the first go around, due to more expensive tier levels, is doing its job. Whoever Joel has helping him on the backend of this certainly knows what they're doing.
By tomorrow morning we'll get a good idea of how much the "core" fanbase will immediately give. Probably between 1.25-1.6 million. Then we'll see what kind of legs it has.

Avg pledge is north of 200 bucks. That's just crazy. This sure looks like it's going to hit the 2 million goal. BUT, the ultimate question will be -- will he get the 50K subscribers from last time and will they all be willing to give that 200 bucks. I still stand at no. But, I guess it doesn't really look like he needs to if the diehards are willing to give $200 a piece. ... [maths] he only needs ~27K to hit his 5.5 Mil if the average stays at $200 (which it wont)

Well it just broke $1 million. It's been posted for less than six hours. I'm really surprised that this seems so popular so far. Keep in mind that Joel sent out an email to all KS backers of the last one yesterday. So, there was no time needed pulling in the old MST3K crowd for this one, he had a ready made list. I'm going to guess very soon, like by tomorrow afternoon, this is going to level off to almost flat. But, who knows. I'm shocked there's this many people willing to give Joel another 250 bucks. $250 average is crazy, but then, 6,000 backers is not 50,000.

There's a lot of initial "I sure do want new episodes! And I don't want the show to ever get cancelled again, so I'm in!"
Has there been any mention of what a Gizmoplex subscription will cost for non-backers, or on a continuing basis for backers once their pledge reward subscription runs out? I didn't see any, but there's a lot of information to digest and I'm still working my way through it all. There was something about "day passes" being available for 99 cents if a Gizmoplex member wants to hold a watch party for non members, but I'm not sure I understand completely what Joel is envisioning.
