Season 10 SoundtracksHorrors of Spider IslandHas some uncredited twist and make out music SquirmTrack Listing* I Can Hear the Dark, the creepy kid song (actual title unknown) * A Million Ways to Love You, vocalist unknown (music by Robert Prince, lyrics by Hal Hackady) * Shadows (actual title unknown, written by Robert Prince) Hey, Hal Hackady, he wrote the lyrics to "Let's Go Mets!" during their world series run. Unfortunately, the singer on Shadows was not credited and no one seems to know who she is. YouTubers reached out to Sally Stevens (It Lives By Night) but she said it wasn't her, and it was too early for another, similar-sounding vocalist she knew. Too bad, she has a lovely haunting voice to match the track. I'm assuming A Million Ways to Love is the difficult to hear number playing on the radio in the cafe, sung by a male vocalist (I watched it uncut, unriffed). But don't hold me to that, the music was woefully under-credited. Danger DiabolikDeep Down, music by Ennio Morricone, lyrics by Audrey Nohra Performed by Maria Cristina Brancucci Italian... English... Ennio Morricone's soundtrack to the 1968 cult classic, Danger Diabolik, has long been one of those holy-grail scores from the sixties lost to time. The original tapes are apparently missing, and the only releases fans have seen over the years are recorded directly from the film track (complete with dialog and sound effects). Sci-fi Era Songs of the Year?Season 8: Zombie Stomp is likely the one most MSTies would point to, though Shook Out of Shape would be my pick Season 9: Kiss Kicker 99 Season 10: California Lady

Season 11 SoundtracksReptilicusWhy would MSTs editor cut this wonderful song, did they forget how important music is to the show? Tvoli Night by the delightful Birthe Wilke en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthe_Wilke Cry WildernessNo info that I could find other than the end credits list Fritz Heede as doing the music (composer) - does that include the country rock songs? You hear the trucker's song, and an end credits numberAvalanche* Difficult Season, Paladin (additional music arrangement by Mark Wilde) * Right Down at the Bottom, Paladin (additional music arrangement by Betsy Clark) Paladin (Gary Nabors, Greg Weber, Curtis Johnson, Mark Wilde, Ray Loos) is the band seen in the club where everyone is dancing. The Christmas That Almost Wasn'tTrack Listing: Most songs written by Ray Carter and Paul Tripp * The Christmas That Almost Wasn't, Glenn Yarbrough * Christmas Is Coming, Lydia Brazzi * Hustle Bustle, Mischa Auer * Kids Get All The Breaks, Rossano Brazzi * I'm Bad, Rossano Brazzi * The Name of the Song is Prune, Mischa Auer * What Are Children Like? Alberto Rabagliati * Time For Christmas, Paul Tripp * I've Got a Date With Santa, Santa Clause Round and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Children's Choir * Why Can't Every Day Be Christmas? Rossano Brazzi This was Paul Tripp's baby - he wrote the children's book the film was based on, acted in the movie as Santa's sidekick lawyer, and co-wrote most of the song. Fans of The Dick Van Dyke Show, might remember him as Ted Harris, Sally's would be boyfriend in the episode "Sally Is a Girl". Rossano Brazzi, who played Prune, also directed the picture and can be seen as Don Lamanna in Final Justice and as the mad doctor in Frankenstein’s Castle of Freaks, which was covered by Cinematic Titanic. Because I know it's your dream to hear these songs unriffed, here's the YouTube PlaylistOthers Strauss' Radetzky March is heard in The Land That Time Forgot / Soussa's Washington Post is heard in the end credits of Carnival Magic / Groovy Go-Go Dance music in Yongary / Festival Tunes in Beast of Hollow Mountain None: Cry Wilderness, The Time Travelers, Starcrash (great John Barry score however), Loves of Hercules, Wizards of the Lost Kingdom I & II

Season 12 Soundtracks: Mac and Me Track Listing* Down to Earth, Ashford & Simpson (Written by Allee Willis and Danny Sembello) * Send Out a Signal, Written and Performed by Larry Hart * Wait and Break My Heart Tomorrow, The Flint River Band (Written by Greg Allen) * You Knew What You Were Doing (Every Inch Of The Way), Marcella Detroit (as Marcy Levy) (Written by Marcella Detroit (as Marcy Levy) and Jeff Barry) * Waves, Debbie Lytton (Written by Marti Sharron and Glen Ballard) * Take Me, I'll Follow You, Bobby Caldwell (Music and Lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Bobby Caldwell) * You're Not a Stranger Anymore, Jara Lane (Music Alan Silvestri, Lyrics Bob Gaudio, Judy Parker and Mike Curb) 2 familiar MST songwriting names pop up here, Marti Sharron (Angels Revenge) and Mike Curb (Sidehackers) Debbie Lytton was an actress, singer and writer of YA fiction. Her song was co-written written by the woman who co-wrote Shine Your Love. Marcella Levy / Marcella Detroit co-wrote the 1977 Eric Clapton hit "Lay Down Sally" and was a member of Shakespeare's Sister (she sang lead on the song "Stay"). Her song... youtu.be/ihI8CsF9QfYJeff Barry wrote a bunch of hits, and Ashford & Simpson were big stars. Bobby Caldwell's another with a long resume. So while the music's not my style, they put some talent into this soundtrack. The YouTube Playlist for the full soundtrack

Season 12 SoundtracksI'm going to wrap up season 12, then post another missed song. Tomorrow I'll post KTMA, and then that'll be it for the time being (unless I remember another I forgot). It's been an enjoyable project to work on and hopefully, an enjoyable and informative one to read. Killer Fish (1979)* The Winner Takes All, Amil Stewart (written by Barry Leng, Simon May, Guido De Angelis & Maurizio De Angelis) Amii Stewart is best remembered for her 1979 US #1 hit "Knock On Wood", a disco remake of Eddie Floyd's original. Born Amy Stewart, she became "Amii" in the 70s because another Amy Stewart had registered with Equity before she did. Amii toured with several musical productions (among them "Bubbling Brown Sugar") before meeting up with Barry Leng in London, the producer of her breakthrough hit. Although considered a "one hit wonder" in her homeland, Amii achieved considerably more success in the UK before moving to Italy in the early-80s (where she remains to this day). A great beauty and dancer, equally adept at belters and ballads, Ms. Stewart has retained a hardcore fan base. Her recordings have been produced by such diverse talents as Giorgio Moroder and Ennio Morricone, and it is unfortunate that her post-disco recordings are rarely heard outside her adopted country. - Source, IMDB Bio Ator, the Fighting Eagle (1982)* Runn, Simona Pirone (music by Douglas Meakin, lyrics by Carlo Maria Cordio) Boy, this sounds a little like the Bond Theme, For Your Eyes Only. Douglas Meakin's music can also be heard in Warrior of the Lost World. Carlo Maria Cordio was the composer on Troll 2, he also composed the song "Sanda" in Ator. Simona Pirone is a singer, songwriter from Montreal, she has a page at YouTube... www.youtube.com/channel/UCbgNDMJOqsj0IQUXawvk42ANone that I know of... Atlantic Rim, Lords of the Deep, The Day Time Ended (but I was lazy and didn't go through the movies themselves, just went by IMDB - but I'll get back to them, just to make certain)

As I was waking up, a riff entered my brain... "No reason to leave C" - Mike, from The Horror of Party Beach (not an exact quote). I thought, "Oh yeah, I forgot about the girl's singing "The Wagoner's Lad" during their slumber party!"
Lad is a tragic love ballad, that originated from c. 1850-1875, and has been covered by just about every traditional folk artist out there.

KTMA SoundtracksI only did a quick run through IMDB credits, so there could be songs that I'm not finding or remembering, but of those not redone in season 3 - I heard club music on Su-Muru. Also, Humanoid Woman was heavily edited, so I watched the restored cut and didn't hear any there. Green Slime had a theme, but it didn't play in the proof of concept tape - Sherry Gaden wrote the song and it was produced, arranged and conducted and maybe sung by surf music pioneer, Richard DelvyAlt-full length version of the song with an added bridge... There's also some groovy music during a dance sequence. The "Legend of Dinosaurs"Track Listing* The Legend of Distant Blood, Eiichi Miyanaga (music and arrangement Masao Yagi; lyrics Keisuke Yamakawa) * Final Chapter/Epilogue (Eruption at Mount Fuji), Eiichi Miyanaga (Masao Yagi & Keisuke Yamakawa) * Country song performed on the floating stage, Akira Moroguchi with "Beau Yatani and His The [sic] Last Longhorn Band" Edit - Bart Fargo filled us in on titles, singers, and such, see full post below. I'll just leave my final thought that it was odd to hear disco music on a monster movie, especially at the end when you're expecting something tense and bombastic, not "la, la, laaaaa, la, la, la, la, la, la"

The "Legend of Dinosaurs"Track Listing* The Legend of the Distant Blood, Unknown band playing on floating stage * Eruption at Mount Fuji (actual title unknown) This was difficult, trying to find titles, and there are no writing or singing credits. I gather there was a single released, but the person who said they had one (decades ago), no longer remembers who it was credited to. I got lucky finding the title for the first, but was unlucky in that regard for the volcano song. I found the film unriffed, but the songs were not subtitled, nor were the credits. Grrr. The movies composer was Masao Yagi and he may have written the songs. It's odd to hear disco music on a monster movie, espcially at the end when your expect something tense and bombastic, not "la, la, laaaaa, la, la, la, la, la, la" The opening titles song is called "Legend of Distant Blood." The composition and arrangement are by film composer Masao Yagi; lyrics are by Keisuke Yamakawa. It's sung by Eiichi Miyanaga, who was the drummer and vocalist of Murasaki (Japanese for "purple") at the time. The film credits aren't really clear if the band or just Miyanaga recorded the song, but I'd wager it's the latter. Unfortunately, the film doesn't credit the final song, but the Japanese Wikipedia entry calls it "Final Chapter" (possibly "Epilogue") and assigns it the same credits as "Legend of Distant Blood." These credits might come from the 2019 soundtrack release by Cinema-Kan. The country music, meanwhile, is performed by singer Akira Moroguchi with "Beau Yatani and His The [sic] Last Longhorn Band" (the credits use the name "The L Longhorn B"). Moroguchi was a real country singer in Japan, but with my minimal knowledge of the Japanese language, I can't find any evidence that he ever fronted a band by that name outside of the movie (but it's definitely a possibility -- this just requires more research). These songs didn't make the cut on the 2019 soundtrack album, either.

Thanks a ton Bart, that's a great help. I'll make edits to my post. Weirdly, when I originally entered 遠い血の伝説 on the new laptop I got a single page, I just did it on this old one, and received a several. Including this for a single release. kikimimi.shop-pro.jp/?pid=91688764

The Day the Earth FrozeI finally got my disc for the uncut, remastered original film, titled "Sampo", and either Corman (AIP) or MST cut most of the music from the movie. But here's what was heard (not real titles). The actors sung their own numbers. BTW - The failure song is even funnier when you see the movie uncut, because twice Lemminkäinen goes to steal the Sampo from the witch, and twice he fails. Track Listing* The opening song, where Väinämöinen sings and the recorder writes, Urho Somersalmi * Annikki sings, just before she is kidnapped, Eve Kivi * A lock of Annikki's hair finds it's way to Lemminkäinen and sings to him of her abduction, Eve Kivi * Väinämöinen sings as heroes sail to rescue Annikki, Urho Somersalmi * My golden locks disappear beneath the waves, Eve Kivi (sung after Lemmin disappears in the sea for the second time) * Tanhumusiikki (written by Igor Morozov, performed by kansanmusiikkiyhtye) - unsure what this is. * Wedding procession, sung by wedding guests, which became the total failure song in MST3Ks hands. * Groom be thankful for your luck, Urho Somersalmi Songs written by Igor Morozov & Väinö Kaukonen unless otherwise noted.

The Horror of Party Beach is an MST classic and got the Mindless Summer Livestreams off to a good start. The remaining experiments aren't as amazing (though I do enjoy Tormented, none of the others made my top 100), but honestly, the fun is seeing these with our riffers and writers and hearing their comments. So, I'm looking forward to them all, even Catalina Caper. Joining in this week was Matt, Nate, Tim Ryder, and Beez Though she had mic issues, Beez shared some stories and showed off the props she has (I knew she had the chair, didn't know she had the sculpture). It was also mentioned that she riffed with Rebecca Hanson's team (in addition to working solo, the writers paired off into groups). We don't know what riffs will make the final cut just yet, but if you hear any fabric-related quips or bald jokes... they might have come from Beez. Next week it's Tormented, and before that, we have another Mads Livestream... and later in the month the Mary Jo Pehl show makes its debut. So August should be a blast. Oh, and the poster is great - it's modeled after the poster for the surf classic, The Endless Summer. Edit: And at my Blog I have Party Beach's "pain rating" as "High" - Hmm, I must have really struggled with it at one time, but it's really not the most painful movie they've ever done. It's not Strange Creatures or Monster A-Go Go or Manos levels of pain. I need to rethink that - how did others view the film - was it a painful chore to sit through?

The only issue I have with THOPB is the screeching "zombie theme" music. Hurts my ears a bit, especially through headphones, and back when I still had cats and they were in the room they didn't care for that sound, either. Except for that and Eulabelle I otherwise really enjoy the episode. I don't know if you remember or not, but on your old blog a comment I made about this episode lead to you creating a "Look Polish!" emoji. I was honored.

Ha, now that you mention it, I do have a memory of that, and I made a few others, though I don't remember how or where I got them - or made them - There might have been an emoji generator that helped?

And I went to take and look, and there it was. A smiling Polish flag. I also read some of the comments. In my review, I wondered where all these creatures came from (were there a bunch of skeletons in the lake?) Forum member Nosferatu's Coffin explained that they are like vampires, once they suck your blood... with those, things in their mouths, it turns the victim into a monster. Now I feel extra bad for all those poor people - attacked, transformed, and then blown up by sodium! ChibodeeCrocket posted info on the Warren comic magazine... jabootu.net/?p=529 - art legend Wally Wood worked on the project, retouching the photos by removing the hot dogs and replacing them with fangs. You can read that photo comic, here... mrpevney.com (jump to pg 16 to get a look at Wally's fangs).

I took another look at that thread, too, and discovered a link I posted then to a video showing the military disposing of post-WWII surplus sodium in a lake. THOPB got those facts about the effects of sodium and water mixing a lot more correct than nuclear waste interacting with dead bodies, as far as we know, anyway. I posted that video in the Random YouTube Video of the Day thread in The Mind of Rick Sloan section for those interested.
