Feel free to ignore KTMA or Season 1 if you don't think it's fair to compare...
but what are the episodes that fulfilled the premise of the show and actually became torture to watch.

HOT TAKE INCOMING!!! I have now watched seven of season 2's thirteen episodes. And while I don't think any of them are bad, I don't think any of them are particularly great either.

My runner-up is Swamp Diamonds because it was just so boring but What to Do on a Date redeems that episode from being my absolute least favorite.

Some of the later season 1 episodes like Untamed Youth, and particularly Moon Zero Two are actually pretty good. However season 1 might be a good choice to cherry pick out the few strong ones!

Season 1 can definitely be rough at time, but none of the episodes there I would call painful. However, I do think Women of the Prehistoric Planet and Untamed Youth come pretty close to that.

Just goes to show how many different opinions you can get in this fandom because I think Women of the Prehistoric Planet is terrific and Season 2 is my favorite season!

Yeah, I like those last 4-5 episodes of Season 1. And behind Season 7, Season 2 probably has the highest hit rate with only 1 "bad" episode (209-Hellcats) and only 1 "below average" episode (203-Jungle Goddess). The rest, to me, is great.

While still a bit rough, another episode from season 1 I found fairly enjoyable was The Crawling Hand!

I've always enjoyed the Crawling Hand as well, nice to see I'm not alone on that one.
Maybe the best way to really gauge what works and what doesn't is simply to look at what episodes you avoid. And that can be surprising - For example, if you put it to the laugh-o-meter, Warrior of the Lost World is a better ep than Slime People. The riffing isn't as spars, it's steadier and likely provides more laughter, but I've actually watched Slime more than I have Lost World. I don't really care much for Lost, don't really have a great time with it, whereas Slime, for all its faults, kind of tickles me, I have fun it. The movie, the characters, the situation.
But for the straight forward answer, and bypassing Season 1 (Though Aztec Mummy is arguably the worst, even grading season 1 on a curve as I do, that one is a struggle) - my two least favorite episodes are...
Incredibly Strange Creatures... I HATE this one, maybe the only MST ep that I out-and-out loathe (in much the same way Kolos hates Kitten With a Whip) - If I never again watch this dumpster fire I'll be just fine with that.
Herc and the Moon Men - movie is riffable, I just don't find the work all that funny.

... and now I'll wait for the inevitable, "but those are my 2 favorite episodes!" response

... and now I'll wait for the inevitable, "but those are my 2 favorite episodes!" response Naahhh, you're just "Shook out of Shape". Oh, and I do love The Incredibly Strange Creatures.

Incredibly Strange is such a double edged sword. One part hilarious, one part hideous. I know the idea is to be funny, and to be able to take a joke and laugh at anything. But no wonder Ray hated MST3k. They made nasty riffs about his friends for ninety minutes. Oh well, it was the 90s, and the Brains have gone on record as apologizing if anyone was hurt. It's hard for me to watch them berate Carolyn like that. I much prefer the Joe Bob release of Incerdibly Strange, with commentary (and a nice widescreen copy!)
