Speculation time -- and what I mean with the header is, season 11 had a Hercules film, a regular of the later Joel years, season 12 saw the return of Ator.
When they were planning to announce movies during the Gamera livestream, the thought popped into my head that perhaps we might see the return of the giant turtle, but that didn't happen. But what else could they do?
And this is just for fun, to stir up conversation.
I'd like to see the return of either Bert I Gordon, because "Food of the Gods" would be awesome. Or...
And wouldn't it be great to see Beverly Garland again, how about "The Alligator People"? (I know, it's B&W, so not likely)

Honestly, I don't have any thoughts/suggestions, I just think this is a good idea to generate good will among the fans and connect the newer seasons with the older ones. Whether it's the return of an actor, a director, a production company, or a franchise, I'd just like to see _something_ that's a clear throwback to an earlier episode. I enjoy those sorts of things, and I think other fans do too.

what I have been hoping for is a return to those russian/finnish fantasy movies I don't know if anyone has seen the HD print of Day the earth froze but it is gorgeous. check out the trailer - www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQIIto2Q1ngthese movies always made for amazing episodes and a widescreen high resolution print would make it such a feast for the eyes too.

I love the Russian folklore/fantasy films and have seen (some/all? of) them unriffed.
I've also watched several films from directors Aleksandr Ptushko and Alexander Rou that weren't featured on MST - BTW, Rou's "Through Fire, Water and… Brass Pipes" features Natalya Sedykh, who played Nastenka in Jack Frost.
And throwback is a better word than call-back, changed the title.

I still think the idea of Gamera coming back could still happen. We'll see what the future brings.
That being said there are more Ator and Hercules movies to riff, so I'll be happy if both popped up.
Or they could do The People That Time Forgot and throw everyone for a loop.

Or they could just show the ending of The Time Travelers, the scene they cut out at the end, and as a bonus, riff on that week after week after... and thanks for the responses, enjoying the reads - thumbs up for more Ator, and Herc... or another euro-spy flick.

Clearly it'll be More Carnival Magic!
Serious though I can see them do 1990 The Bronx Warriors to go with Escape 2000. Granted yeah Rifftrax did that one but they also did the first Ator movie.

It was a grim but effective scene, and definitely riffable - plus it wasn't time-consuming (or ugly, like scenes of violence against women in Side Hackers and Devil Fish that needed to be cut).

And wouldn't it be great to see Beverly Garland again, how about "The Alligator People"? (I know, it's B&W, so not likely) This would be a great choice because it has a guy in a funny alligator costume yet takes itself so seriously, but unfortunately, more than being B&W, I think what would prevent it is its ownership by Fox.
"I'll kill you, Alligator Man, just like I'd kill any four-legged gator!"

They just announced Gamera vs Jiger on the KS update page. We'll see how it compares with the Gamera Round Two fan riff, which was frankly pretty darn funny.
