Pretty sure the fandom have already started a cult surrounding the Big White Dot.

Can't seem to find the archived stream at all. Didn't stay up to watch the premier because different time zones so decided to watch the episode in the morning but it doesn't appear in my collection at all.

Still haven’t sat down to watch the whole episode, but from what I saw during the stream last night and the archive stream today the new production aesthetics are growing on me. I’ve noticed Joel will latch onto a gimmick for a season but it doesn’t really become apparent until you watch a full season and catch all the visual and host segment references. Season 11 was clearly inspired by Thunderbirds-esque miniature sets and puppet people, season 12 used bubbles and fluid quite a bit more (to cover in camera cuts) and season 13 seems to be leaning into the flat set aesthetics through physical and digital 2D art, likely due to the reliance on green screens. I kind of dig it, and in some places prefer it to the Netflix seasons, but would prefer the SoL backdrop be physical at least.

It’s still showing up for me in purchases then event passes. Looks like they chopped out 4 minutes of tech problems too. The length was over three hours when I started watching last night. Down to 2.5 for now.

man you are so spot on about the lighting mismatch for the Mads.. Assuming it's all shot like that I doubt there will be a fix for their footage but they could easily replace the digital backdrop.. keep the window but change the color scheme of their station to match the black and purple aesthetic. I think they did a decent job with the moon part of the imagery.. I especially liked andy and his dog out there with all the containers of the 'movie juice'. but the mads station is just terrible.. If they are out of money to pay for the digital artist to redo it then put out the call to the fans.. I guarantee some fan could easily whip up something better than that and they can just drop it in and give that fan credit as payment.

The rewatch is on the main page again and it seems a bit sharper and cleaner this time, so things like the door sequence don't look as cheap. that livestream must have used some bad compression or something.
Would be nice if they could just replace the whole intro. It looks weird how the intro and all the mad bits share the same flat static master shot. It had me believe they were doing the segments live as well for some reason.

It's a crappy quality screenshot, but I think this still an improvement over the full blown purple lighting.

What probably would have helped is if the ceiling had an image of purple lights instead of white, because then the purple light on the actors would help them fit in the scene more naturally. Jonah and the bots appear more natural because they are lit with their set colors.

Do we know if it was Baron and Connor singing the theme song?

It was DEFINITELY Baron. Thanks to Season 11 and 12, I can tell his caterwauling anywhere.
That was the biggest load of crap from the first KS. "The guy if perfect for Servo! He can sing, just like Kevin Murphy!" Yeah, no.
As far as Hampton, I couldn't tell.

Given how kinga's part was great on the S11/12 theme song and terrible here I have to just blame whoever put the song together and produced it.

Audio mixing has been dodgy elsewhere, wouldn't surprise me they muffed it in the intro, too.
