Well damn i need to check the updates, during the KS they did give out an extra month for meeting a goal. If they did, then it can always be added on later.
Found it first mentioned in Update#19:
FINAL CHALLENGE #2: If we can break our "total" record and reach $6,364,230, we'll add a THIRTEENTH EPISODE to Season 13 – a NEW HOLIDAY SPECIAL featuring JONAH, EMILY and JOEL – and we'll add an extra month to all Gizmoplex Pass rewards so you can see it!
Well someone needs to bring that up sometime this year, it seems to be stated under the context that season 13 would last 13 months rather than the 10 months but a KS promise is a KS promise.

You know, everyone keeps making covid excuses. If this was so hard, and what we see is the 'best' they could do, why didn't they just wait a year. Is Joel really that desperate for money? It's not like MST3K core fans were going anywhere. I know there's the idiom of 'better than nothing', but for a non-essential consumer product like an entertainment show, it's rarely true. You are aware that it's not just Joel that makes a living with the show right? Hampton just a had a baby.. I'm sure he is grateful for the paycheck right now. And he is just one cast member. It's a business with employees. You need revenue to pay salaries, bills, property tax, etc.

Hmm, I don't think my subscription runs through March, let me check what it says. ... Livestream tickets + streaming replay access to all GIZMOPLEX LIVESTREAM PREMIERES & EVENTS from MARCH 4, 2022 through FEB 28, 2023.Oh crap, it's right there in the KS writing? Well then, this was all a no brainer, they were definitely opening the gizmoplex and showing something in March 2022.

You need revenue to pay salaries, bills, property tax, etc. Dude, there is NO WAY any of those people are relying on MST3K as their sole income. Hampton et al have or are trying to get other work. It's one of the main reason the Jonah crew is only half a season and the rest are being handed off to the low-budget live crew. (I actually suspect that many of the Jonah crew like Oswalt and Jonah came back more as a favor than any sort of business/money reasons.) Same with any AV crew. There's really no way they're not all just for hire gig crew that came and shot a few weeks and moved on. There is no one other than Joel and maybe a friend/colleague or two on the full-time Alternaversal team.

Of course they are all looking for other work.. that doesn't change the fact that doing it now gets them a paycheck in 2022. got a source on the number of full time employees for Alternaversal? I would love to see the staff breakdown actually.

Four people. As of May, 2020 when they got a PPP/COVID Loan. It might be more now. Source: www.federalpay.org/paycheck-protection-program/alternaversal-llc-doylestown-pa

I think you are right that they probably have more 'full timers' now. When the pandemic hit they weren't making any episodes. through that same website I see that Rifftrax had 14 employees when they got their PPP/Covid loan. Interesting.

At RiffTrax, besides Mike, Kevin, and Bill there's -
David G. Martin: CEO David D. Martin (no relation):Technical Director (Per his LinkedIn, that's "Oversee all post production work including video encoding, streaming media, live production, DVD authoring, and video editing. Facility management. General operations management.")
(The Martins are the ones who took RiffTrax independent from Legend Films in 2012.)
Conor Lastowka: writer/producer Sean Thomason: Writer/producer Sarah Vanderbush Abad: Producer/acquisitions/office manager Erik Peterson: Senior Web Engineer Nik Anderson: Web Engineer
(Erik and Nik run the website, respond to help tickets and problems, do the majority of the Kickstarter work, and post and respond on social media)
Peter Hunter: Marketing Jeff Whitton: Marketing Diana Buckley: Finance Director Jason Martin: Graphic Designer Casey June: Video Editor Tony Maisello: Assistant Video Editor
RiffTrax has grown their business slowly but steadily over the years, so they have been able to hire people to perform specific duties as the business demands it, rather than overwork people or have them perform jobs they aren't qualified to do very well. Hopefully Alternaversal will be able to expand their staff if the Gizmoplex concept is successful.
