I didn't say that you said it was lazy.. others have. This is the kind of 'tone and inflammatory' language that gets these little spin ups of emotions going around here. I look forward to your even handed policing of tone and 'inflammatory language'.

Similarly, these live events are pretty weak if they just consist of them showing an old episodes with cast after-banter, especially when they did it better when they had Joel and cast providing the live commentary. At least this time they have Bill Corbett. Also Creature Creator Ken Hall who was talked about on that live commentary livestream. Joel is sick, though, he can't bring up all those questions he wanted to ask him about the puppets. in the survey I suggested they adopt a Last drive in/joe bob briggs model for the livestreams of old episodes. An In character working for Kinga person would work.. Patton would be excellent at this.. but anyone with some love of film history and charisma would work. The guests are incorporated into those segments that like Joe bob does. Give context and history of the episode/film as well as some humorous prewritten stuff. the zoom meeting snoozefests aren't cutting it. there is no atmosphere or joy to it.

They kind of do that now. During the breaks Jonah and the bots chime in on the movie right so incorporate the 'guest zoom call' throughout the feature with jonah and the bots then. It would be so much more entertaining.

Even though I know it won't be read, I'm going to link back to the response to the survey I gave a few weeks ago, laying out my feelings on the cutting down of the movies. Its under the spoiler tag, point #5 "The arbitrary cutting down of the movies" HEREAnd I don't expect anyone that doesn't agree with me to agree with me, but I at least want you to disagree with me because you understand what I'm saying, not what you're misinterpreting it as. This is the LAST thing I'm going to say in defense of this position, because I'm starting to get very annoyed. And beyond this point, it frankly isn't worth my time if my position keeps being willfully misinterpreted for the purposes of strawman attacks and gaslighting. Actually, it was read. A day or two ago. I'd read it before when it was first posted, but I re-read this post in preparation for my last several replies, because I wanted to take your complaints in good faith. So I know exactly what you said, and I addressed it then, in my own posts which you didn't seem to acknowledge. But let me do it once more. As I said a day or two ago, because I noted that you said it in your own survey reply, they were shaving movies down into this range as far back as at least the Sci-Fi years. You feel the way they've done it now makes them incomprehensible, others disagree. I don't feel the current editing, or the lack of 1-3 minutes more makes any difference to that flow. This is a question of subjective taste, it's not an absolute fact and it's not an intrinsic reflection on the show itself or its quality. That's all I'm saying. But I assure you: I read your posts. I just fundamentally disagree with them.

In this Den of Geek interview with Jonah and Emily, Jonah seems to confirm that Demon Squad is a Joel episode at the 18 minute mark: m.youtube.com/watch?v=ebP_YUXJSpY&t=1757sAssuming that Jonah and Emily each get 5 episodes, I believe this is our lineup for the rest of the season: Munchie (Jonah) Doctor Mordrid (Emily) Demon Squad (Joel) Gamera vs Jiger (Jonah, confirmed) The Batwoman (Emily) The Million Eyes of Sumuru (Emily) H.G. Wells' The Shape of Things to Come (Emily) The Mask 3D (Jonah, confirmed) The Bubble (Joel) The Christmas Dragon (Joel, Jonah & Emily)

Based on the silhouette on the Munchie standee in the Gizmoplex, it looks like this is confirmed as a Jonah episode.

Indiewire on the look of Season 13.Quote: And then there’s that whole pandemic issue, which necessitated a lot of cast and crew juggling, and led to the increased use of green screens for the host segments. “In the context of the Gizmoplex, I think it’s meshing really well,” Hodgson said. “And, as time goes on, we’ll continue to get closer and closer. There’s a shared visual language and art direction between how a set would look and what you can make in a computer.”
For Hodgson and Glover, their shared vision for this new frontier is a triumph of ingenuity and love akin to Joel Robinson sticking a gumball machine atop a barrel-shaped bank and calling it a robot. “I’m deliriously happy with how it looks,” said Hodgson, with Glover in full agreement. “There are a few complainers here and there,” the illustrator said of the response to the first few episodes. “But overall, it’s been warm and welcoming. It feels like the old days.”
I would not be so sure that physical sets are going to return in the future (as many fans appear to be), based on this. If Joel is "deliriously happy" with the visuals of Season 13, and he believes that "as time goes on, we'll get closer and closer" to how an actual set would look by using green screens, then it appears he sees no reason to use physical sets, and has no plan to do so if more episodes are produced.

I wouldn't be surprised if things stay green screen. Especially if the show continues with two casts.

I know Joel mentioned something about looking for more permanent studio space, so hopefully SOME kind of permanent set gets built eventually.
In other news...is there an episode coming this Friday?

Yeah, Munchie. It's on the front of the Gizlmoplex and the standee is up in the lobby.

I wouldn't be surprised if things stay green screen. Especially if the show continues with two casts. I can't particularly fault them for that in the current era. I think the show looks good and looked good on Netflix. I would like some standing sets and the return of a crafted door sequence, though I think the final cut versions of the flatmotion stuff look very solid. The rough cuts were a nightmare but these are pretty decent.

I know Joel mentioned something about looking for more permanent studio space, so hopefully SOME kind of permanent set gets built eventually. In other news...is there an episode coming this Friday? yeah Joel said they want to have their own studio and offices again. I'm guessing when they went with Netflix, Netflix provided all that studio space for them to use and they simply paid the expense from the KS to keep the show theirs. Now they are on their own and don't have that big studio hookup. Couple that with the COVID situation and its quite the climb to get back to doing things like they used to. As for them being happy the way things look, they could very well aspire to take Glover's art and bring it to full three-dimensional life on a set. Glover's work now simply looks good under the circumstances. I don't see them abandoning the idea of building physical sets, once they are able to, because of it.

Based on the preview at the end of Munchie, Dr Mordred will be an Emily episode.
