does she actively try to riff the movies? what is this like? It’s unscripted, but she does riff. It’s essentially like watching the movie with your witty, slightly confused friend. She’ll also throw out some riffs from the comment section, crediting/thanking the person who came up with it.

The topic for the April 26 show is Mary Jo riffing on vintage ads.

They're not very good. Unscripted could be fun and I like the original KTMA eps, but here, there's only one person, and I have to say, sorry MJ, she's getting old, and she's just not that funny any more (IMO of course, YMMV, etc)

I watched the one streaming event where they went through all her failed projects... I just felt bad for her.. it didn't feel like a celebration and these movie watch along events feel like seeing a legendary musician play at a truck stop.. it just feels like a dead end. I am happy to see her so involved in the new season of mst3k.. I keep hoping there is a chance that they would offer her a true Mad role and full time writer role in the episodes themselves.. given what she is doing I can't see her turning it down and I think she would enjoy it a lot more. glad her and bridgette are having fun with their rifftrax riffs though.

I think the Movie Jo shows are OK. While it's not a full riffing, watching the movies and seeing her comments and the chat is enjoyable. And the selection of movies has been pretty good. I thought "The Day My Kid Went Punk" was surprisingly good, while "Velocipastor" was even worse. I'd already seen "Invisible Invaders", so I knew how Agar's smugness overwhelmed it. I disagree with MJ about "Heat Wave!" (yes, there's build-up and no pay-off, but it's going for more of a "day in the life" feeling) and "Haunts of the Very Rich" (good job with the unsettling, sinister atmosphere). She really disliked them, but I thought they were OK. I've seen "Where Have All the People Gone?", and it's pretty good. I'm interested in how this turns out. So, has anyone else suggested a movie? I was acknowledged as one of the fans who suggested "Haunts of the Very Rich", and I hope I'm not in the doghouse over it.

Oh, and who else saw "The $1.00 Pyramid"? That turned out very well. Next time they do a game show, they should try "Password".

Tonight’s Movie Jo Night is an unscripted riff of Peter Graves’ Where Have All the People Gone?

MJ and Chris did a great job commenting/riffing on the movie. As for the movie itself, I thought it was pretty good. It had a good, mysterious atmosphere and held my interest. I wouldn't have minded seeing it go to series. For BBC fans, it looks like it would've been "Survivors", four years earlier.
