Just call her Gypsy, ffs… yeah I was dressed down in a youtube comment for even bringing up the change "its a slur to the roma people" and I am thinking to myself, "how many romanis watch MST3K?" lol

If you want to ensure none will, they should keep using it. This is essentially like saying Downton Abbey should be able to use the N word because “How many black people watch Downton Abbey?” There are a million people in the US with Romani heritage, and 20 million worldwide. I’ll agree that GPC isn’t a perfect replacement name for GPC. “Gypsum” would have fit better, and it’s something Joel actually called the character in some episodes.

Later, Jonah suggests doing something “next season.” That's doubly encouraging because it would seem to indicate Jonah intends to continue, something a recent podcast allegedly raised some doubt about.

Doing the rewatch. I can definitely say the crew's reaction to first seeing Munchie was well warranted.
So this movie is supposed to be a "sequel" to that late 80's Gremlins knock-off Munchies? even though it has no resemblance other than finding a creature in an ancient buried temple.

The Emily skits from the livestream edition of 1304 are too good to not be part of the official episode, IMO - especially the first one with Crow and Tom discussing their new voices and the new host which will help with more casual viewers. I really would find a way to incorporate that material into a proper episode at some point.

I don't recall, there was an offhand mention of some comedian's podcast (I don't remember who) on the official MST forum and it sounded like it was just the poster's personal opinion about the interview re: Jonah possibly wrapping up. But based on this latest I would assume he is planning to stay on.

This is shaping up to be the strongest season of the new era, and I don't think that's any coincidence given the obvious constraints on Netflix with both riffing speed and later The Gauntlet in general. (And I say that as a big, big fan of a lot of Season 11) A lot of things onscreen and off have clicked into place very well, and Emily's hosting skills and overall crew are extremely seasoned from the jump (and IMO that crew is ahead of Jonah and co. this season after just one banger episode tbh).
This is definitely the strongest-riffed episode for Jonah's crew this season, and IMO superior to, say, Mac & Me. While Mac & Me may be a favorite of many fans I always felt it was a mistake to go after it; like a number of RiffTrax episodes, M&M had already been picked clean by recent pop culture for gags, and while it worked out okay I felt it wasn't very fertile ground by the time MST got to it. Nobody is really onto Munchie these days, and they really made a meal of it.
Very happy to see Donna St. Phibes and her wacky accent back, she is a favorite of mine. The host segments all sparkled. Also, #freegrowlerandwaverly. Perfect stinger. No notes!

Watched some of Munchie. It's pretty funny. I noticed -- is Tom's voice a little different? I was watching and realized I hadn't been annoyed by him once, and in fact thought he fit in just fine. Did Baron tone down his delivery in this or was it just me.

He's toned it way back this season in general. It was already toned down in Season 12 from what it was in Season 11, and now it's even further toned back now. Its almost down to a conversational, normal voice without trying to "sell" the lines so hard. And its helped a lot.
