Anybody who says this movie is "boring" or "bad for the show," they and I aren't going to see eye to eye on what makes MST a great show. After I watched this on Tubi, I bought this movie on Blu-ray.

As a huge Full Moon fan who owns like 50 DVDs and blu-rays, has attended their live tours and has read a handful of books on the history of the studio (I recommend "Puppet Master Complete: A Franchise History", "It Came From the Video Aisle" and "Confessions of a Puppetmaster: A Hollywood Memoir of Ghouls, Guts, and Gonzo Filmmaking"), I can safely say that Doctor Mordrid is one of their better films and is well worth watching on its own. Full Moon is an interesting studio (again, highly suggest people read one of the books I've mentioned) and I really hope MST3K uses more movies from their library.
The Trancers and Subspecies movies would be good picks because they are fun on their own and full of stuff that would be riff worthy. But personally, I've long wanted Retro Puppet Master to get the MST3K treatment if only because they could do a meta episode where the bots revert to their "retro" KTMA selves and the host segments could have some fun with the proto MST3K. Heck, the current seasons even have a Mad from the early days. Just sayin...
edit: Also worth noting, one of the reasons I like Full Moon is that they are not above being poked fun at. I do not think they intentionally make bad movies, like Asylum has done, but instead their movies often turn out bad because of the low budgets and short turnaround times. But there is the occasional lightening in a bottle and you get the likes of Bad Channels or Trancers or Puppet Master 3 or Dollman. Anyway, if there is one studio who would play nice with their back catalog and not be a thorn in the side of MST3K in the future, it is Full Moon.

. I do not think they intentionally make bad movies laughs in Dollman vs Demonic Toys. Come on man. They intentionally churned out bare budget shlock with short turnaround times in order to make more bad movies for a quick buck... or at least have a subsidized cocaine fueled vacation orgy that keeps the crews working while they wait for a semi respectable script to come around. and I say that as someone who fn loved Demonic toys (and many of their films) as a kid. that being said.. I'm with you 100% on MST3K doing more Full moon pictures films. yes please..

Sorry, what I meant was I do not think they aim to have bad acting or confusing/plodding scripts. I think it comes naturally, lol. Dollman vs Demonic Toys, as a concept, is not what is bad about the movie. It could have been a very fun crossover event. Their longterm plan at that time was to be the Marvel Comics of movies, with an interconnected world and crazy crossovers. What made Dollman vs Demonic Toys bad was a rushed production and poor effects work and some stupid plot points that contradicted the interconnected world they were building at the time.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but usually, I have been right on these things. Watching MST3K since 1988 with the KTMA days I like to think I know what is funny and what is not funny with riffing. Joel has been known to never listen to the fan base and do what he wants which is his right to do so, but he should really listen to the fan base. The girl, whose name escapes me. You know, the girl who is playing Crow with Emily. Still rancid to listen to,and the riffs are not funny and the timing is off. Why have multiple actors playing one character? I think it's a waste of our Kickstarter funding. I think they have wasted a lot of the Kickstarter funds. Emily is good, but the writer is killing her episodes. I have not been impressed with this season at all. It's nothing new because I have not been impressed since season 11, but there are at least a couple of watchable Jonah episodes. This season lacks the riffs, the heart, and the acting. I blame the director and writers more than the actors. I chuckled a total of three times during Doctor Mordrid. My wife walks into the living room and asks, "I thought you were watching MST3K?" I said, "I am watching." She responds to me, "Usually you are laughing for an hour and a half. I haven't heard you laughing." I shrugged my shoulders and just said, "This season really sucks big time." I don't see this season improving. It's sad because I want to like it. I am just grateful that I can watch the first ten seasons on the Gizmoplex, but there are a lot of episodes not available. Thank goodness for my DVD collection.

I don't know, maybe it's just me. I mean, it’s certainly not *just* you, as there are many opinions about all things out there, but I for one am loving the new season and think Kelsey’s Crow is fantastic.

They should have made a new bot and let her come up with her own version of her natural voice to play it. Then I would have given it a chance. Bart simpson as a fake crow is just terrible.

In principle, I agree. But that wasn't really an option considering she's stepping into the role post-production to replace Nate.

Having said that, I am starting to get used to it. Its not my favorite Crow by an stretch, but I'm getting used to it.

I definitely hated the new Crow voice at first, but listening to it more I'm getting used to it. Kelsey is unfortunately in a very sticky situation. She was chosen to replace Nate's Crow, who was the one heard in all the advertising material, the past couple Turkey Day marathons, and the live shows. People were already expecting him to be Crow for season 13, but he never even got to do a full episode. Couple this with Nate's radio silence and Kelsey being the first female voice for Crow, and you can see why this would be a difficult role for her to step into. While I think a more natural voice would work better for Crow, Kelsey's portrayal does fit his personality (at least, I think it does). It's just one of those things that's not gonna work for everyone, which is fine. I still prefer this over having her voice a completely new character. After how lackluster Waverly and Growler were, I'd rather not have any more new bots on the show.

I adore Waverly and Growler.

I thought that Growler was okay at first... until he became the focus of overblown visual gags in the theater in season 12. Yes, I still hate that they did those. Nothing will convince me that they were funny. As for M. Waverly, I just never cared for him in the first place. His best moment was when he was beaten up in The Loves of Hercules.

Difficult to argue with cogent criticism like this. They should have made a new bot and let her come up with her own version of her natural voice to play it. Then I would have given it a chance. Bart simpson as a fake crow is just terrible. Yeah they weren't going to do that though. They had Nate performing Crow before whatever embarassing business happened. Were they supposed to re-shoot everything on top of having to develop a new character at the last moment? No. They should have just kept all of Nate's work on the show, they paid him after all, and just explained that Nate had to move on from MST3K due to personal circumstances and couldn't be part of the after-shows and what not. Hell, then they could have had all this time to play with the idea of a new bot for Kelsey in the next season, why not, there's a new GPC after all. So instead Kelsey's voice is having to make the best out of redubbing jokes that were written, tested, and rehearsed for Nate and unsurprisingly they aren't coming out as well and now she's stuck as Crow. They really bungled this.

There's obviously a reason they can't even use Nate as Crow. And the fans seem to have largely taken to Kelsey, so I personally don't see the issue.
