They did discussion posts for Seasons 11 and 12. With 11 they essentially started the first one the week the season premiered, then did them weekly after that. If I'm remembering right, the discussion posts for season 12 started a few weeks after the season was posted. So perhaps they're waiting until after season 13 is done, but it seems pretty telling that they don't at least have "There's a new episode out today, post your thoughts below" posts. I don't even recall them newsing that a Season 13 kickstarter was happening. I mean, dislike the new season all you like, it is NEW MST3K and to run a news site devoted to it and not news about it comes off as amateurish and a little childish if there is some weird grudge. Why even bother with the site if you aren't talking about a season as it is happening. Oh well. I think Sampo is just busy with other things and not terribly interested in the show right now. Keep in mind, he's been maintaining the site for over 20 years now. That's a long time to maintain interest in a TV show. There was a post about it back in 2020, when the Weekend Discussions and Episode Guide discussions finally came to an end: www.mst3kinfo.com/?p=28745Quote: I agree it's sad; the site is basically an MST3k obituary now. But I think Sampo deserves credit for all the time and work he has put into the site over the years. I basically left the MST3k fandom after the show went off the air, and when I returned 15 years later for the Kickstarter, MST3kInfo was still there! That's pretty remarkable.

If it makes you feel better they haven't really advertised the live shows that Frank and Trace do online. They did for a bit then they just stopped posting on that. So Season 13 isn't the only thing they don't post on anymore.

So The Shape of Things to Come was Emily’s last solo episode of the season. Jonah is hosting The Mask in 3D, which means The Bubble will be Joel’s second hosting ep, followed by all three riffing on The Christmas Dragon (is that what it’s called?)

It could be that they are still posted there because they actively send Sampo press releases for him to put up, and other people don't.

I remember a PM someone sent me about a decade ago, about how they were asking Sampo why he didn't have my website on their page, and he told him that I'd have to submit the site... I responded that I'd submitted it a few times and... nothing. The only time Sampo ever responded to me was when I interviewed Beez, that he was interested in and included on the page.
I don't know the guy or what he's about, what's going on in his life, it's certainly possible to get burnt out on something, even something you love. That happened with me, I didn't even look at my MST Blog for years, and when the new KTMAs were put out there in the world, I thought I should add them, but man, it was like a chore to do so. It was only last year that I returned to MJs, and was back in a happier place with it, happy to work on it again.

While not awful, I felt Shape was Emily's weakest episode. The season's starting to slip a bit for me so I'm hoping for a rebound. The Cavalcade short was good, and I am crossing fingers that Joel's The Bubble is a winner. The idea of a 3D episode and the 3 hosts riff intrigues me, so they've not lost me by any means, I'm still enthused, and enjoying the personalities, the Plex itself, and extras they are throwing our way (Synthia Selects), but I would really like another Atlantis-level release, or two, or three

I thought Shape of Things was not only Emily’s best episode, but one of my favorite eps of the season so far. Go know! (FWIW, I thought Batwoman was her weakest.) But we can agree Atlantis has been a Top 3 ep this season, for sure.

Middle-ground. Not a classic, nothing I'd revisit, not bad...just exists. Like a lot of the back half of this season so far. Its just there. They made it. It exists now. And its....completely...middle ground. Which...is...good? It makes me want more, though. Not more of this same-ness, I want what I KNOW they can do. Something on the level of Beyond Atlantis or Munchie. And we're just not getting it. And the fact we're not getting that high level stuff on a consistent basis is very disappointing. I need to watch the Cavalcade short, as I've heard nothing but good things about it. Yeah, gonna need at least ONE great episode out of the last few of the season. Otherwise the season's going to be, what, 2ish great episodes, 1 or 2 bad ones and a whole lotta MIDDLE.

Munchie was really well written, but the movie was... difficult - and it's not the puppet, that so traumatized the crew, but the whole bullying, and a-hole adults hassling a kid that pushes the wrong buttons with me. I'd rather watch Santo and Batwoman, to be honest, there's a breezy charm to the Mexican films, I like spending time with them... though I admit, on the riffing side of things, Muchie's one of the writing staff's better efforts.
As to Shape, me calling it the weakest doesn't mean I think it's bad, but it is, yeah, just there. The Emily eps all entertained me on some level.

Something I just noticed last month, they got Penn Jillette to do the "This has been an Alternaversal Production" at the end of the episodes now, including the monthly Synthia Selects. That's pretty damn cool and really brings a classic MST3K feel to the production.

They also started putting curtains on the classic episode airings. I still say that leaving the sides empty and black is the best thing you can do.
Also sad I didnt get the heads up that the Devil Doll tribute was when they were doing the special Jackbox game, especially since they were playing my favorite, Trivia Murder Party.

Actually, I like the curtains. Gives it a bit more of a "theater" vibe.

eh then put curtains around your TV. Filling that negative space just distracts from the picture.

Hey dopes, you're just drawing attention to it! Just leave it blank. Suggestion -- if you're watching in a browser and have an ad blocker, you might be able to block the curtain graphic elements.
