And to add, it's not so far removed from Nu-MST3K either... for whatever problems season 11 had, soft and same-ness in the riffing wasn't one of them.

I feel like I'm the only one who's fully satisfied with Season 13. Is that just here or other forums as well? I don't go to any other MST sites, so I don't know what the consensus is.

No, as I posted back a few, there are places where people are tickled pink by the season, so you're not the only one.

I feel like I'm the only one who's fully satisfied with Season 13. They've had a good selection of movies, the riffs are funny, and they've finally gotten the rhythm of the jokes right (not too many or too fast). It's not perfect, but I expected that. The only expectation I had was, "Is it funny?". And, as far as I'm concerned, it is. And if I want edgier material, The Mads, MJ, and RT are providing it, and very well, too. No way--this is absolutely my favorite season since the reboot, by far, and might even be my favorite since season 8 or so (which I know is controversial). I've been away from here with the start of the semester, but I think there've been some kind of edgy riffs. The season, as a whole, probably does seem to play it a little safe...I don't hate that though. I think the old show mostly was the same through about season 7 or 8 for the most part, and didn't really start to go too dark/mean until the last couple of years (I still like that stuff, but there's always been a pretty noticeable tone shift for me). That said, in the early days, those really dark/edgy jokes really stood out and hit perfect because they weren't as common. And I'm getting a similar vibe from this season. Is it as good as seasons 3 and 5 (my favorites)? Nah, but this season is really coming closest to that of the recent stuff, and maybe even some Sci-Fi channel stuff. So yeah, I'm really into the season. I like the mix of films, I've gotten a lot of laughs and am just having a ton of fun kicking back and watching new MST. (In fact, there's only one moment I've been truly disappointed in--the long Gamera walking scene. I like the impulse there to do the extended song, but the extended song kinda sucked, and I think the old crew could have KILLED it there--either coming up with something more clever lyrically, or maybe some other idea tied to slowly walking. It seemed like it could've been a "sand storm" or "rock climbing" moment, and they just came up with some filler lyrics for a fake song, although I otherwise really loved that episode).

This was a good episode and it looks like the season is feeling its stride. I do not like reriffs at all, and I prefer the original KTMA episode of this film better than the redux. Joel needs to release the full KTMA season on the app even though I have them on DVD I would buy them again. I watched the episode today because I forgot that there are still new episodes. This season hasn't been good enough and is very forgettable, but the recent episodes have been fine. I am more concerned about my add-ons promised because I have seen no add-ons in the mail. I am not holding my breath about receiving my 3-D glasses on time either.

Sounds like glasses are going out soon, with the rest of the rewards coming as soon as two items get back from the manufacturer.

Pardon my cross-post:
I thought they nailed this one tbh.
The movie was sleazy/‘funny’ in its tawdry '60s way, and the quietly openly gay George Nader (a close personal friend of Rock Hudson) as the lothario lead was the cherry on top for this gay fan; he was such a fun ham to watch, and unrecognizable as You-Can-Call-Me-Nereus from Beyond Atlantis. But the riffing was pretty strong with the exception of a slightly sluggish final segment (though I was a bit tired by then). It’s not the heights of Beyond Atlantis, Munchie or Gamera but it’s a very solid ep.

I have to give a shout-out to the short Cavalcade. It has been the best thing MST3K has done this year. Mary Jo and J. Elvis were spot on in all their riffs and perfect timing.
