Maybe the current campaign backers got the email yesterday and the former backers who have not backed the new campaign got it today?

I got one yesterday in my hotmail, essentially a Kickstarter update. Today I got an email version to my gmail.

The actor's strike is supposedly close to being over. Could be announced before the weekend is done. A well-timed announcement of who's coming back and their own proclamations to their social media followers would go a long way.
I will say, this has been an unpredictable campaign so far. 90k so far today after a very lackluster Day 3. Perhaps it is just not being on Kickstarter that's the issue. Or at least one of the major issues.

I wouldn't think so really, interface is really the same. Only drawbacks: Having to sign up for a new site, not being able to change or cancel existing pledges through the site. (adding items just means doing a second checkout). All kickstarter backers and Gizmoplex members get emails all the same, as if its another KS campaign.

Quite the correction from the prior day. Not QUITE on pace with what's needed, but I'm sure they'll take it over the lackluster prior day. If we're assuming the same pace and percentages as last KS, its still a very steep uphill climb, but this campaign seems a bit unusual.

Past 1.1 million now. Only 3.7 million to the first goal. So essentially the last 4+ days were paying for that mystery 1.1 million upwards revision.

Also, when they announced this campaign I told myself I wouldn't be getting into the same mindless back and forth with certain people over minutiae and endless streams of nonsense arguments. I apologize for furthering any needless bickering. I'm here to discuss and analyze and I'm really not interested in these peeing contests. I had enough of that in the last KS with that dudehitscar person. So I'm going to be taking a more nuanced "I don't care, moving on" approach in the season 14 threads. great memories about you lying about me too. When I called you out about it in a private message you replied "And if I am, and it does get deleted, then what? Ceasefire? Because I really don't something ongoing."
here we are years later and you just can't help yourself. Yep must have been me that was the bad guy the whole time. Lurkers feel free to go through the old threads on the last kickstarter for a laugh.

Anyway I'll join the cynic side on this campaign:
Matt Mcginnis being the main 'face and voice' of the main promotional video of this campaign is an enormous mistake IMO.
Not having any of the cast confirmed is going to hurt the campaign badly. Who the voices are (how many episodes per cast), will joel come back, cameos, etc are a huge part of the second Kickstarter's success. I understand the legal aspect around the strike but hope they can find some balance on the 'presumed cast members' making their interest known in big ways. Some of the best nights of the previous kickstarter were the watch alongs of old episodes with the new cast (and confirmed cameos) as well as that epic cast vs cast competition live event. They will really struggle without those IMO.
In addition to much of the groaning about lack of the gizmoplex being able to support future seasons that we are seeing out there.
This looks like it will be a much rougher road to get to the upper tiers of # of new episodes.
Physical sets are the big positive promise so far as well as scaling back the rewards stuff that they completely failed on last time.
Haven't pledged anything so far. I am going to just wait and see how it unfolds and jump in at the end with whatever I feel it's worth.
Nice to see a lot of you again. Hope you have been well.

So the bottom hasn't totally fall out yet. But the more days go by, the more clear it becomes that this is going to have to emulate the daily performance of the 1st KS, rather than the 2nd. So big announcements every week or so to get more people invested. Live events. Etc.
I think another problem is that since the base goal is so high, the project won't be funded until quite a ways into the campaign. Probably the last week or so (barring a giant announcement in the coming week or 2). On Kickstarter and crowdfunding in general, a decent portion of backers seem to like to hang back on pledging until a campaign gets past its base funding goal, then pile in once its hit. That way they're guaranteed to get the extras and "back a winning horse". In the other campaigns, the 1st goal was low enough that it was hit pretty quickly and those people piled in near the start, so the secondary goals got met that much quicker, etc.

I'm just now seeing this. I'm glad it's happening, because the silence after Season 13 was getting unnerving. I was starting to think the show's future was in question.
Will I watch Season 14? Probably not. Neither did I watch Season 13. It's in the "I'll get to it someday" pile along with the Film Crew and Cinematic Titanic. But that doesn't mean I want the show to end. I want it to thrive, satisfy its old audience, and attract a new one. Hopefully Season 14 will be the one that does it, permanently entrenching the Gizmoplex and making it a profitable venture.
Will I donate? No. But I didn't donate to the 2nd Kickstarter either, and I only donated a very small amount to the first. So I don't think my absence is telling in any way. The Kickstarter (or fundraiser or Showmaker or whatever) will succeed or fail without me. I hope it succeeds.

Probably not. Neither did I watch Season 13. It's in the "I'll get to it someday" pile along with the Film Crew and Cinematic Titanic. Hopefully Season 14 will be the one that does it, permanently entrenching the Gizmoplex and making it a profitable venture. Will I donate? We've been trying to figure out the rhyme and reason as to who's getting told about the campaign and how. My initial guess was the backer emails were being sent to the prior backers of the 1st & 2nd KS. But if you donated to the first KS (but not the 2nd) and DIDN'T get an email, it may be limited to those that backed the 2nd.
