I was recently talking with my dad about MST3k (he doesn't really watch the show, so I was telling him some good points and jokes from it), and he got off the subject and told me that he used to watch those old marionette shows when he was really young.
Thinking almost immediately of the very first two episodes, I went to Daddy-O's Drive-In Dirt to get the original names of the two marionette shows.
One of them was Stingray, or as it was known on MST3k, Invaders from the Deep. He immediately recognized the (original) name. If only we all had those episodes, I would get that one for him for nostalgia's sake.

I would love to see the infamous "lost" Season 0 episodes, as I'm sure everyone else does, but I doubt Jim Mallon will ever let them out of his super secret vault.

Well, one possible reason he hasn't released them is that they never got the rights, but in 800 years when the movies become public domain, maybe his great great great great great great great great great great granson/daughter will released them...

Well, I was exaggerating, but if someone renews it or something, it could take 800 years before they don't care...

Guys, I think we're all missing the obvious solution to this problem.
First we have to track down where Jim Mallon lives and where he keeps the tapes. THEN we sneak in, snatch the four tapes, and leave copies of other MST3K episodes in their place (just in case he decides to watch one and wants to watch the earliest episodes, you see. He'll just think that he accidentally pulled out the wrong episode and he'll watch the whole 1.5 hours of it without bothering to change it). We quickly take these four stolen tapes to our Highly-Illegal Bootlegging Lab(tm) where we have four(4) computers ready to record the tapes into a digital format so that little to no quality will be lost. Then we sneak the four tapes back into his home when no one's looking, and sneak out.
Then we sell the four episodes on eBay for hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Bwa-HaHaHaHaHa!!!

I'd love to see the MiSTed Invaders from the Deep and Revenge of the Mysterons from Mars (thats its proper title! Not Mysterians! ) cos I love all those Supermarionation series, even if those compilations are pretty naff. Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons is probably my favourite TV series EVER. There's more info at: www.supermarionation.netif you happen to be interested, or not, or whatever.

Cool. I'm definitely going to have to enter one of those contests at that site. Wouldn't mind a Mysterons soundtrack....

And I'm definitely going to have to buy the entire Stingrayseries for my dad...except I'll buy it from Overstock because it's 35% cheaper.

Serious solution to getting the lost KTMAs (and possibly others in high quality): - Get Jim Mallon's actual address
- Get a goup of us together who are willing to go to Minnesota for a few days
- Together, go to his house and knock on his door unitl he answers
- Once he opens his door we stay there demanding that he releases those episodes
Since we're really there, he can't just ignore us (like that online petition) and will have to listen to us. Also, we would have to prepare a list of reasons as to why we would like to see those episodes, assuming they're good enough, I'm sure he'd release them. Or he'd invite us into his home and play them for us ther Anyone up for trying this?

Does KTMA still exsist? And if so, do you think it's possible they have the episodes buried away in the vault somewhere? Just something to ponder if you already haven't.
