I have mixed feelings about Xmas this year (actually every year, but this one especially). For the first time ever I'm going to be totally alone for the holidays. So, this year, to occupy my time, I'm going to watch every Xmas themed or related MST3K episode I have.
Of course I'll watch the obvious ones: Santa Claus and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. But what am I missing? I'm drawing a blank. There must be other shows with Xmas related movies and/or sketches in them. Can anyone refresh my memory?
I think I'll make this my first 'Patrick Swayze Christmas'
BTW- what the hell happened to Swayze? He dropped off the face of the earth as far as I know. He was a big star for awhile and now nothing.

Well you have to remember episode 521 where the guys watch a horrible Christmas film simply entitled "Santa Claus". It features the Devil and Santa and elves and well, you'd just have to see it. It also features Mike and the Bots doing a song called "Merry Christmas, If That's OK". Also KTMA 05 where Joel cryogenically freezes Crow and turns him into a Christmas tree. Hope you have a Merry Christmas despite being alone.
Peace and Love,
Servo

Yeah, I mentioned Santa Claus...Unfortunately I don't have any KTMAs yet. But thanks for the suggestion and good wishes. Maybe I'll celebrate Festivas instead....

321- Santa Claus Conquers The Martians and 521- Santa Claus is about it for MST. My advice, ignore Christmas. Don't let it beat you. It's really just adapted from a pagan ritual and multiplied by commercialism. But keep in mind I'm bitter and jaded.

Hey, I don't disagree. Honestly, even if I had family around this year, I wouldn't make a big deal about Xmas. I'm not Christian so it doesn't mean squat to me in that way. But, really, is it possible to ignore Xmas in America? Not a chance.
Other than MST3K I plan to just watch movies for the rest of the day.

The only seasonal movie I like is A Christmas Story. That movie is awesome. It strikes just the right tone. Every other Christmas movie blows chunks. Just an opinion from a 700 year old bitter and jaded punk.

Hey, just get into the feeling of the only time of year where most everyone doesn't act like complete assholes all the time. You don't have to be religious (I'm not) or concede to the facets of commercialism (I didn't buy squat for anyone). Just enjoy the fact that for, at least one day, everything is, for the most part, peaceful. Do what I do. Drive around and listen to your favorite music and enjoy the fact that you're one of the only people on the road. Then go home and have a MST3K marathon either alone or with some friends. Suggestions and thoughts, Servo

Opinion dually noted. I'm not quite that far gone yet, gimme 20 years... I don't mean to give the impression that I'm going to sulk and mope around the house all day. If fact, it'll be pretty much a normal Wednesday. I admit the 'Xmas cheer' is kind of infectious.

Maybe a normal Thursday feels like a normal Wednesday to goldenspiderduck. It pretty much works that way for me. I say the only days that feel different are a normal Saturday and a normal Sunday. That's great goldenspiderduck but Christmas will be Thursday. Just in case you wanted to be accurate.

My Christmas will be the first year i'm not at home. Oh well, i've got a nice, warm, soft bed to sleep in, and some friends who want me to hang out.

I'm actually looking forward to New Year's more than Christmas. Party central baby!!! Get to spend a whole week in Texas, where it's hopefully warm, with my friend I haven't seen in about a year. Yep, New Year's is gonna be better.

Funny. Christmas has never made me depressed. I believe in Christ with all my heart, and I get a certain unexplainable joyous feeling every Christmas. Plus there's presents! ;D While not very religious, I agree with you Forrest. The joyous feeling is somewhat infectious around this time, some people make me nauseous with it, but, it's fun. Sleighbells ring, are ya listening..... Servo
