I am always baffled by fellow MSTies who complain that a MSTied movie was slow moving or boring. Do you actually deeply follow the storyline? Or just tune in for the riffs and "sort of" follow the story?
I could care less about the plot. There are some that are more entertaining on their own than others (like The Magic Sword- one of the best)...
How about you?

The plot means nothing to me.If the movie is moving slowly there seems to be less riffs.Theres only 2 or 3 episodes I find hard to watch.

I dont know it varies. Sometimes I enjoy finding all the bad naunces of the plot. Also it tends to help the riffs come across better. However, there are some were a slow story can seem to create some slow riffing. An example is Quest of the Delta Knights. However, Girl in the Gold Boots is great despite being slow so I guess it does vary.

Being an amatuer screenwriter, I can't help but try to follow the movies and figure out where they went wrong.

I try not to judge MSTied versions because of the cuts.Im sure though that most of the cuts arent anything significant.

I tend to follow the plot. To me, the best episodes are the ones where movie itself isn't all that bad (using the term "all that bad" losely here).

the three episodes I have a problem watching are: 1 Blood Waters Of Doctor Z 2 City Limits 3 Monster A Go-Go (maybe its because my copy is fuzzy and the lighting is bad to begin with)
Is it just my copy of Monster A Go-Go or is everybody's copy extremely bright?
Sorry, but my attention span does not allow me to watch these.

Yeah I follow the plot, listen to the script, watch the action. Why? Because that's what the guys are reacting to.
Just hearing J&TB yell at "Lost Continent" isn't funny unless you've involved yourself in the deep scarring pain that is rock climbing. They are not really saying anything funny but you laugh because you can relate!
Take for example. If I just say "EWWW", that's not going to make you laugh. If I put up a close up on Arch Hall Jrs. face... ahh, now that my friend is when "EWWW!" becomes downright hysterical.
As afr as a bad flick effecting the riffing. Yeah, to me Hamlet's problem is the movie is slow, it's slows down the riffs, it doesn't inspire a huge quantity of great riffs. Red Zone Cuba is another that is distracting.
I'd like to say "I'm here just for the riffing", but I can't divorce the two. The jokes work in concert with the movie.

I think so. Some of the riffs note it.
"Hey Sarge, ever worry that you don't have a face?"

I only listen to what is necessary to laugh at the riffs. I never follow the plot that closely, or my brain will explode. However, Hamlet was just downright BAD. Not very easy to sit through. Could it be perhaps that it was boring while the other movies were at least interesting? Probably. I mean, I tried to read Julius Caesar by Shakespere, and it isn't very interesting. Final point: Shakespere is boring. Some bad movie are interesting enough to watch. The End.
