Just listened to the DVD commentary on one of my favorite films, "Rock 'n' Roll High School". (Gawd did the Ramones rock!!)
This was really informative and fun comments from several sources, including the director (Allan Arkush) and Screen Writer.
* Corman's cheapness was often referred to (When he'd want them to edit a scene they wanted to keep, they'd spin it so that it would cost $$ to remove it! And Roger never wanted to spend more than he had to, LOL)
* They talked a lot about deleated scenes, but we'll never see them because Roger didn't save them! One included shots of the Ramones performing "I Wanna Be Sedated" another was a topless scene with PJ Soles, that had Ron Howard peeping through a window!
* Corman vet Dick Miller (It Conquered the World) improvised his "Ugly, Ugly People" line and had several of his scenes cut.
* Mamie Van Dorn was originally going to play the part of Coach Steroid but Corman wouldn't pay her what she wanted.
I love this movie and tho the print isn't perfectly clean, the extra's (including a Leonard Malten interview with Corman) make this well worth having.

The best DVD commentary ever was Evil Dead II.
They just cut loose and had fun.
"Never walk backwards in a horror movie, folks!"

I'll have to check that one out. I bet it would be a blast.
The Hulk's really disappointed me. Ang was the only one on it and maybe he's having trouble with English, but he didn't articulate his thoughts very well it times ("I really liked this scene" he says several times. Okay, but tell us why?) and he talked more about the technical aspects.
Dark City's was interesting and actually has two, one from the various creators and another with Roger Ebert.
And I'm hoping "Donnie Darko's" commentary is good because that movie opens itself up to a lot of quesions.

Anyone here ever see the original Little Shop Of Horrors? Not the 80's Musical with Rick Moranis mind you, think black and white. Fifties.
It's not Oscar material, but man, it's definitely worth watching. If you can appreciate camp at all (and just a reminder, Tom Servo is a bubble-gum machine and Crow has a bowling ball pin and lacrosse net and ping-pong balls on his head), then this movie is a must see. It's like a really long, really funny episode of "The Twilight Zone."

Was it part of the "Corman Classics" series of DVDs? If so the commenatry could be fun for that as well.

I thought Hulk's started pretty good, but then drifted into a buttload of nothingness. I agree, it started off well. But then it drifted. Why the comic booky death scene for Talbot? The mushroom cloud symbolism I can figure out, but why not let me hear your thoughts on it Ang? And the sevral "I like this scene" comments that we hear a lot at the end, why not elaborate on what you liked about it, the FXs or dialog or whatever.
