Hey, amethyst, I have a few questions and comments. First I'd like to say, I've been watching MST3K since I was a little kid too (and on KTMA, live in St. Croix Bch.), so I was wonder, how old were you when you made those drawings?I was about 15. My art style was a bit primitive back then, I admit. I still enjoy drawing and I have a page on Elfwood containing my fantasy drawings (Yes, I'm an uber-geek. If my art style isn't big enough evidence to that effect, the sad portrait of me in Rennie regalia certainly is...): elfwood.lysator.liu.se/loth/d/i/dietzinger/dietzinger.html Sorry, I didn't mean to insult you're artistic value. The ONLY thing I've ever been able to draw correctly is the Van Halen symbol. Hey it primitive art, on a primitive version of the greatest show ever. Maybe you're the next Picasso or Gilegud.

And Satellite News is now making the official announcement: LATEST NEWS -- October 19
LONG-LOST KTMA HOST SEGMENT FOUND For as long as MSTies have been collecting episodes, the only known existing copy of episode K15 - SUPERDOME, from the ancient KTMA days, was missing the final host segment.
Well, no longer. Longtime and devoted MSTies Lee Lovingood and Michael Slusher have managed to locate the missing segment.
It was in the possession of a Minnesota woman named Teresa Dietzinger. A fan of the show since those KTMA days, she was one of the first fan club members, and sent some artwork in to the show--which was then featured in that final host segment of episode K15. She managed to tape the episode and has held on to the tape since then. Unfortunately, her father long ago taped over the rest of the episode with family footage and such, but the final host segment remained intact, and is now in Lee's careful custody.
I'm kinda bummed this board didn't get credit. I am in agreement that this board should have gotten some recognition. Without it's development into a rather popular destination, the "discovery" might have never taken place. It would have been a great opportunity for the Satellite News to raise awareness of this board.

Hell, they didn't even ask us for information. Consider this, though...
This was where the discovery happened This is where the discovery was first confirmed real This was the first place to have the link to the screenshots This was the first place to have a link to the video clips
I have made every event connected to this find available to the members of this board first and foremost. I will certainly mention that fact and the board when I do a writeup, which I plan on posting soon. I think I can safely say that my site has had as much traffic in the past two days as Sat News has!

Cool! And I have to agree, this board did let me know just how important this discovery was and it helped get the word out about it...

I don't think credit is necessary for the board. Certainly the board had its role in bringing the discovery up front, but all the credit in the world belongs to amethyst for not only keeping the segment for so long but for seeking someone to talk to about it. We're fortunate enough to have seen this cool little bit of history unfold. No need for an extra pat on the back.

Yeah but the board is certainly a part of it's uncovering story. And we're the only ones keeping this show active in discussion on the net. I think we are anyway.
