Lacking volunteers, Skyroniter adopts more persuasive methods to select the next host for the MST3K Monthly Contest. That is so funny. I've got to put it where I can remember it! I appreciate everyone who has hosted and entered the many great weekly contests we've had over the last seven plus years.
To sweeten the deal, I've decided that I want to offer three DVDs or two blu-ray to any members who step up to host the contest. Beats trying to pull a "Body Snatcher" move on you guys.
I know its difficult to come up with ideas and some contests go great and some not so great but, by golly, it really is the effort that counts! My contests went both ways back when I had the brain cells to host them myself.
We are now having a single monthly contest with each contest lasting approximately three weeks. The prize is being increased to 10 DVDs (or 6 blu-ray!) to the winner. Contests should start the first Saturday of each month and end on the third Sunday.
EDIT 8.22.14 My site has officially closed. I want to continue to provide prizes in the future. Winners contact me via message. Thanks everybody! Any members that are interested in hosting our little contest may sign up now. Please note if you are providing the prize or I am providing it and which month you would be able to host. I am glad to supply the prizes at no cost to the contest host. Or anyone else except me! So take on the contest, won't you? Some basic rules are: 1) Don't sign up if you are not going to be able to follow through and administer the contest and/or provide prize(s) promptly. 2) You may vary the prize based on whatever MST you have to provide. My prize will be three ten DVD episodes for one winner. If I am providing the prize, please include a link to my site in your contest thread. 3) Hosts don't pick your best board buddy as winner. Tell them to stay the hell away! Remember, results are audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers. 4) Hosts email me your choices after the contest is completed. Here we go...
March: Afgncaap5
April: continosbuckle
May: continosbuckle Also, PM any active moderator or administrator to have your contest post stickied.

I'm sorry, I just don't feel smart enough to do this yet. One of you older-timers has got to take this on. (I just didn't want you to feel like we were all ignoring your request for help.)

I'm sorry, I just don't feel smart enough to do this yet. One of you older-timers has got to take this on. (I just didn't want you to feel like we were all ignoring your request for help.) I understand reluctance as a relative newbie but for anyone that considers "being new" a problem, it really isn't. The contest can be whatever you want it to be, with any degree of difficulty you choose. So please don't let that hold anyone back who wants to give it a shot.

This is also a good way to introduce yourself, even if you ARE fairly new. I understand graft can make one popular.

My prize will be three DVD episodes for one winner. If I am providing the prize, please include a link to my site in your contest thread. As I've seen some (several) contests that don't do this, I'd like to make the point that these contests would not exist without sky. Do not take it for granted.

We've been running this little contest for about six years. I wanted to take a second to thank everyone who have stepped up to host a contest and also those who choose to enter. I'd also like to ask for your continued participation. It's a great way to get to know your fellow board members.
So if you've never tried hosting before please give it a shot. If you've hosted previously, please take it again. I am always willing to provide the prize. Just send me a pm.

I guess I can do it. I'm sure I'll come up with a good contest idea by July. Unfortunatly I have nothing to offer prize-wise, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide them. A great way to get to know some of your fellow MSTies. I appreciate the help and am very glad to provide the prize.

skyroniter!
Your blu-rays have been amazing! I am enjoying every second of them; thank you so much!
In the future...I may try my hat, if there's room, at a contest idea. In the meantime...I'll be thinking...preparing...stressing...
lol

My offer is to send you anything unavailable commercially on DVD or Blu-Ray. I even have the KTMA in a quality never before seen thanks to Tom Noel and Chad.

Hey hey--
I volunteered to run a February contest a month ago or so, and I see it's not updated. Still interested? If so, cool. If not, no hard feelings.
