Never had a clear cut favorite, that I can recall anyway. SM is the better movie with slightly better host segs, Megs has somewhat better riffing. I'll call a tie and ask where that option is.

I went with megalon, based solely on Rex Dart: Eskimo Spy. That skit always makes me crack up, no matter how many times I've seen it.

Ill stick w/ what I said Godzilla vs Sea Monster was the better movie - non mst3k or otherwise Godzilla vs Megalon is way better for MST3K rifling & the skits were better. I like the invention exchanges. Megalon has a cult following for being THE WORST G flick ever, which is why many adore it. Seeing it uncut widescreen on sci fi makes it actually a better film still not better than any 1960s Godzilla movies. Megalon is the campiest

I think it's probably accepted as the cheesiest, but not the worst. That typically goes out to Godzilla's Revenge (aka Godzilla: The Clip Show).

Actually Godzillas Revenge with all the stock footage is still better than Megalon. Megalon also had TONS of stock footage. They even used stock footage from the previous film Godzilla vs. Gigan, which also had stock footage ! Megalon had the looney characters in it, atrocious English dubbing, while at least Godzillas Revenge was directed well, had a lesson in the film to stand up to bullies. I didnt like it as much as the other films, there was stock footage in it as the EFX director Eiji Tsuburaya had passed away during the making of it. Revenge wasnt their best effort due to this, but it wasnt as campy as Megalon Even if Minya 'talks' oh well...

Megalon. Because it taught me the little known fact that a rocket & 50 feet of uncoiled rope is standard equipment for a picnic in Japan.

Just watched sea monster. I really do love this one even though, I like Megalon better. I just love Joel's "you may find yourself living in a shogun shack" and also Tom's "Oh look.....the wall says GO-GO, That must be the bathroom...." ;D

Heh, one of my favorite riffs in Sea Monster isn't really a reference or anything too clever at all, but it describes a lot of my favorite riffs: the ones where the guys say something as if they were the character.
When the guys are climbing the "steep" cliff to get to high land, and they almost fall, when Crow pretends he's the "robber" guy and yells "SPREAD OUT!" to the goofy guy right next to him, I ALWAYS bust out laughing.

I've only seen both episodes once, but I remember them both being pretty equal in terms of enjoyment. Both to me are just good, not great episodes. However, I think Megalon slightly edges out over Sea Monster for me.

I actually like Sea Monster a little more, funnier riffs and host segments.
