Emily is the best host because she's the only one that hasn't made a bad episode.

Emily is the best host because she's the only one that hasn't made a bad episode. There's a certain irrefutable logic to this that makes me giddy

Team Mike. That is all, I had started writing this long blown out thing about my feelings about Joel and Mike but then I re-read the title and it just asked who was the better host. to be short and sweet, the Invention Exchanges are fun (not all of them though) and I always felt like the Gutterbumberchute was Mike's way of poking fun at it. The early riff on the fly from KTMA up until the scriptedness of season 1 while organic feeling made me feel like I could have done better sometimes or pointed out other riffing opportunities they missed. I agree that Joel felt homey and warm and fuzzy but always felt more saturday morning cartoon to me than with Mike where it was more SNL. I think what it all comes down to, is who you have more nostalgia for, because nostalgia is what drives these kinds of decisions for most people.

My answer is simply neither. It comes down to an episode by episode basis for me.

I didn't vote because it really doesn't matter to me. There are episodes and host segments for both that I like and/or dislike.

Joel made the better host, his interactions with the robots and the mad scientists just feels so much more right than anything that followed. Mike's episodes make me laugh more.

I don't go by hosts. I go by eras. For me the Comedy Central era was the best. Of course I've been a fan since the fall of 1991. Can't say that is what I grew up on. Since I turned 30 that year. But it was what got me into the show. Trace was also the better puppeteer. Mike or Joel are interchangeable depending on the experiment. For for me Comedy Central #1, Sci-Fi #2, while Netflix is a big Meh.

I didn't get the chance to vote but for me, at this time it has to be Mike. It was Joel for many years, but as I appreciate the show more as it ages I really enjoy Mike. He was the center of the riffing, and his riffs are the best hands down. He was a lot of the success of the show. You can see without Mike in Season 11 and 12 that it was lackluster.

My answer is simply neither. It comes down to an episode by episode basis for me. I have to agree with the assessment also.
