Wow, nice posts all. I never knew Roscoe was the guy in Killer Shrews. Unfortunately the great Hoke Howell (aka Crapout from Sidehackers) died a few years ago but his wonderful spirit still assists the righteous. He saved me from bureaucracy as the helpful 'Form-ulator'. I'm wondering where those pictures of Joe Don Baker (with the big(ger) gut) are which were shown in a recent similar thread... not that I want to see them mind you, I was just wondering outloud. Forget I ever said anything. Woops, what the heck is this in my pocket. Yuck.

We gotta get you a bigger av, Crapout. Not a different one, just bigger. Don't change it, it cracks me up everytime...
Makes me think of NUMBER 14!! Wooo!!
And I always loved Hoke Howell. Just saw him in the Brady Bunch Grand Canyon episode with the family the other day. His face came on, and my son and I both called out, "That's a NUMBER 5!" I swear. We laughed ourselves sore.

Joe Don Baker was in the first or second Pierce Brosnon James Bond film, so it's pretty easy to see how he's physically devolved over the years. Good to see him. Before that, Joe Don was in Scorsese's Cape Fear. Whenever there's a bit part for a meaty, Texan jackass, the rolodex spins right to B for Baker.

In keeping with the Sidehackers theme from the previous "Crapout" reply.... we'll start with a couple of the main stars... We have Ross Hagen (That magnificent bastard Rommel) Diane McBain (Rita) How much Keeffe is in this thread anyway? Miles O'Keeffe We couldn't possibly showcase Ator without his arch nemesis.... David Brandon (aka David Cain Houghton) Side note: interesting interview with him where he actually answers a few questions about the making of Cave Dwellers www.cinema-nocturna.com/ma_davidbrandoninter.htm

Well, I'll be hornswaggled! I just found out that the lead actor in The Killer Shrews, James Best, went on to play Sherriff Rosco P. Coltrane on The Dukes of Hazzard! Talk about missed riff opportunities! So now James Best is annointed as one of my favorite MSTed actors. James Best was really a pretty good character actor in the 60s before he got typecast as Roscoe. Check out his work in the Twilight Zone eps "Jess-Belle" (the best acting he ever did IMO) and "The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank."
