Not exactly MST3K, but Shout just announced that there are only 100 copies left of the Cinematic Titanic set and that it will go out of print after that. I wonder if it will remain on Tubi/in rotation on Twitch, or if they’re losing the rights to any of the films? It would be nice if they became available digitally on the Gizmoplex or the Rifftrax site. I would love to see the Shout! Factory closet (Ala Criterion Collection). Glad I just purchased a copy from Deep Discount, with a coupon code recently. Was always sad that the "Samson and The Seven Miracles of The World" and "The Astral Factor" were never recorded for release. I would really have loved to see/own the former.

The rights have probably finally expired on the Sam Sherman-licensed titles (BRIDES OF BLOOD, THE DYNAMITE BROTHERS, BRAIN OF BLOOD, etc.) and/or THE ALIEN FACTOR. Hopefully they stay on streaming for longer!

Cut copyright down to 56 years? Yeah, that's not going to happen.
I mean, of course that entire thing with the senator from Missouri's all political posturing to his particular wing of the party. But it would certainly not only apply to Disney, and there would be a huge furor from ACROSS all media, not only the movie industry, but music, books etc. Especially if the copyright protections got stripped back to essentially (right now) the late 60s.
Personally, I think 95 years is way too long. But 56 is definitely too short.

Wow that's an amazing amount of pettiness even for a right-wing senator

I'm torn. I'd say 75 years is fair. That would cover most creators for their own lifetime. But this is just a punitive measure because they think Disney is "woke."

Was just reading on the Classic Horror Film Board, Kino Libor signed a big new distribution deal with Paramount, however it does NOT include any of the films previously released by Olive. So...some hope that maybe Shout got to those films first.
