You know, I own that Criterion disc, but I haven't cracked it open because i've seen the movie a million times. I'm going to have to watch that. let us know what the difference is and if there is a copyright to it.

For American films, it's 95 years. Period. So RXM has until 2045. Still awhile, but it'll be here sooner than you think.

ALERT: MST3k Volume 34 (XXXIV) now out-of-print! Shout's MST3k Volume 34 DVD set (Viking Women, War of the Colossal Beast, The Undead, and She Creature) is listed as OOP on Shout's online store, effective yesterday. www.shoutfactory.com/product/mst3k-volume-xxxiv?product_id=4449Snap up a copy on Amazon, Best Buy, Deep Discount, CD Universe, DVD Empire, Walmart, Barnes & Noble, etc, if you don't have a copy already. Don't risk having to buy later on eBay at higher prices! However, only the DVD set is out-of-print. Shout apparently still has the digital distribution, streaming and download rights. You can still buy digital copies of the episodes on Amazon Prime video. That's because you don't get the documentary when you buy digital copies of the episode. IMHO, I think this has to do with the Susan Hart settlement Shout made regarding the AIP documentary on the set. Remember in that Reddit thread the mention of how Shout wanted an additional two years for physical distribution rights on the set's documentary? I think this relates to that. Hart file suit against Shout in late 2018, set goes out-of-print at beginning of January, 2021, exactly two years. Since Shout had it in print for five years since December 2015, I don't think it's a priority to re-issue the DVD. www.reddit.com/r/MST3K/comments/f0f561/shout_factory_is_very_close_to_licensing_the/

You know.... at this point, I’m willing to bet it likely is Susan.
Guess we’ll see saying bye bye to other sets with AIP Arkoff titles?

So I know this was brought up on another thread, but I figured I may as well bring it here too, especially since now all of the Paramount films released by Olive have (supposedly) expired with their deals.
At this point, does Shout honestly have plans to even release any of the remaining four that are in the clear (again, assuming Olive didn’t renew any of their titles)? Cause frankly it looks to me like they’re trying to stick to their word that 39 is the last volume and just want to release them on ShoutTV instead.

They need to license them out, which is a lengthy negotiation process. They might not have even started negotiating for the remaining Paramount titles. The only people who would know work there and wouldn't leak it.
If they do gain those titles, DVD release is far more likely than digital. Just about every major studio title they have is disc only. As are Girls Town and Diabolik, which both came from Paramount.
Quest of the Delta Knights is an outlier, not the standard. It's DVD status depends on the other three titles.

Quest of the Delta Knights is an outlier, not the standard. It's DVD status depends on the other three titles. It's not entirely dependent, Shout can release individual episodes on stand-alone discs. Doing that would also keep their prior statement about volume 39 being the last collection accurate (although they only said "most likely", so it could always change).

Doing that would also keep their prior statement about volume 39 being the last collection accurate (although they only said "most likely", so it could always change). True, but the likely reason it was released digitally first was because it didn't yet have three episodes to put it on DVD with it yet. If the Paramount deal was unlikely, they probably would have issued a single disc out for it. And if it doesn't come to pass, they can still do it. Either way, what happens depends on those three episodes and they're unlikely to be a part of a streaming deal because the studio would want to retain all streaming rights to the films. It's the same with the other Paramount titles, Universal, MGM, and Warner Bros. Shout is still primarily a DVD and blu-ray company. Their streaming and filmmaking presence is growing, but their bread and butter lies on disc sales, so the pessimistic idea of "The DVD hasn't happened yet, that means it ISN'T going to happen" just doesn't work for me. There are other factors to consider than they have the one episode. That being said, digital exclusiveness isn't entirely impossible. Shout has North American distribution of Kamen Rider for example, but exclusive only to streaming. But why a title as obscure as Quest of the Delta Knights would be streaming only is just a weird idea when the filmmakers aren't making any other money off the title and are obviously open to licensing it.

I was just searching Rocketship X-M and found Wade Williams comments from 2016 on a forum where you could contact him. Apologies if this has been posted before. All spelling mistakes are from Wade himself.
---
I did NOT license ROCKETSHIP XM to MST 3000 because I did not own the television rights . when MST 3000 licensed it..
The late Weiss Global licensed it to MST3000. At that time I owned all rights to the pictures except television
I have received many NEGATIVE COMMENTS from serious science fiction fans for allowing ROCKETSHIP XM to be " defiled " and " defined" as a stupid movie on MST3000.
I felt the same way. I bought all television rights plus all rights to LOST CONTINENT and SPACEWAYS from Weiss.
I have received negative comments for even the edit of XM when we remove and replaced the V-2 rocket footage.
I will not license ROCKETSHIP XM for MST3000 ever . It is a landmark and historic film, very popular and am in the process of taking it off the pirates uploading on YOUTUBE .and elsewhere.
I am going to make a restoration BLU-RAY with the REVISED version and the ORIGINAL version with the V2 rockets and lavender died film stock on Mars.
I can't understand why people keep saying that Susan is withholding her valuable properties !. She requires a normal fair distribution license and like me am damn tired of having these bottom feeders steal our properties.and upload them.
Thanks for the the comments.
wade Williams

Well... It's been four years later and he still hasn't done that blu-ray. From that forum, reading some of the comments made by others there, it looked like a ton of people were sick of dealing with him.

Like I've said before, father time will have the last laugh. Eventually these films will fall into public domain and will be released in some form or another. All the while these two old crones and their heirs will have lost out on decades of licensing monies. Good riddance.

Here are a couple more that I have discovered from this forum. It's here if you would like to see the whole thing: www.hometheaterforum.com/community/threads/an-e-mail-appeal-to-mr-wade-williams.348711/--- This is NOT a policy decision. I have some of my films to MST 3000 AGAINST NEGATIVE COMMENTS FROM MOST FANS. so get the record straight. ROCKETSHIP XM is a legendary film in history and it is going to stay that way. wade williams --- Rocketship X-M was a cashgrab after the success of the film Destination Moon, another film that Wade owns. This was the one that made me understand what Wade is about. It's a bit off topic, but shows the type of person Wade is. --- The 3D films are ready for distribution when a distributor licenses them !!! I am NOT going to spend 20K on HANNAH LEE so a handful of collectors can see it before they die. --- It just shows that it isn't about the films, it's about ego. And Wade has an amazing colossal one at that.
