I'm also one of those folks who's accepting of a lot of things, so I'm one of the rare few who found "Clayton! Clayton!" amusing.
I liked Pearl because she was a woman and the shortest but obviously the toughest one of the lot around, what with her beating up the others and biting the caps off beer bottles, and she tended to have a great sense of timing and delivery. Plus the random little moments like the one that opened Time Chasers.

"Oh god, Clatyon! You're killng me, Clatyon! What could be taking him? Quit playing and tend to your mother, Clayton!" If I ever got a cell phone, that would be my ring tone.

Personally I love her and think she's hysterical, and I'm not just saying that because her hubby is on here and might kick my ass. :-) Seriously, I can't get enough of that "Clayton" thing, I don't know why. It's just really funny to me, as is the other host segment from the same ep where Crow is reading to her from "Love's Throbbing Gondola." I also really like the host seg at the end of one of the SciFi eps (why can I never remember which one?) where she's in the ladies' room at the Pump n' Munch with Brain Guy. When Brain Guy says he didn't realize it was the ladies' room, the way she says, "Riiiight," just kills me.
So, in short, she's awesome. :-)

I just remembered two other moments I love:
From "The Projected Man," when Brain Guy is going into his thing about the restless spirits in the castle, saying, "Nepenthe! Nepenthe!" And then Pearl pauses a beat and says, "You are SO gay."
Also, when Brain Guy is telling her that doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different reaction is "surely a sign of madness," and then she pops him one and says, "Then why do you keep mouthing off to me? You get the same REACTION every time."
:-)

It's the little things. Like when she accidentally eats the bug Bobo gives her and just pauses, with a 'PLAUGH! BOBO!' over the commercial break, or the little bit at the end of Hobgoblins where she's just nonchalantly going on and then sticks in the earplugs and blows up Bobo and Brain Guy.

i loved feeling sorry for pearl, when her plans of taking over the world failed her. like when she tried to take over the world, one person at a time, and she couldn't even do that. or when no one would come to her party on the hobgoblins experiment - i loved how that suspicious looking mole kept moving to different parts of her face. i liked the hell out of pearl. she was tough, funny and had great timing. one of my favorite pearl scenes is when she, brain guy and bobo are trying out for the dance audition in horror of spider island. that whole thing slays me, the way mike mumbles while crossing his legs after pearl spins until she falls - "...mmmm yeah, gary likes that..." just thinking about it makes me laugh. i liked the bit when she, brain guy and bobo were driving around in space in the van. i loved the word play between her and bill corbett (as well as ortega - ;D). i was surprised how funny i found her when she traded places with mike in quest of the delta knights. she was great.

It's funny. Before I read this thread, I would have said that I loved MJP but was meh on Pearl. But then I found myself grinning at so many of the moments that y'all mentioned that I realized, hey, maybe I enjoy Pearl more than I thought!

The entire opening segment of Hobgoblins was pure gold. "You couldn't turn me on if you had a dozen Gerardos and Fabio in tight leather pants! (Pauses, visualizes what she's described, and flutters.) Where... where was I? Oh... right..." "We have ways of dealing with n'er-do-wells who insist on jumping on our rent-to-own couches." i loved feeling sorry for pearl, when her plans of taking over the world failed her. Like the "World Domination Starter Kit" in The Phantom Planet.

I started watching in the SciFi era, so I knew Pearl, Bobo and Brain Guy as the mads for a long time. I'll agree with the others, MJP is wildly funny and has great timing. The host segments just weren't as strongly written all the time. They lost the old mads, not to mention being forced by the scifi channel into creating a story arc, so they were obviously doing the best they could. All-in-all I rather enjoy them.
I even like Delta Knights. No idea why that ep gets so much hate.
But yeah, "Claydon" starts out funny but gets annoying as it is waaaay played out by the end of the episode.

I loved Pearl. She was witty, tough, and wonderfully EVIL! She brought something exciting and different to the table. I am glad she was there to carry her "son's" torch!
