[glow=green,2,300]Well, considering my middle ground leanings in all things political, I think all presidents regardless of whether they are Republican or Democrat have some MST3K worthy moments:
President Kennedy(D): That whole mispronounciation of Berliner leading him to proclaim he was a donut to the German populace is pretty MST3K worthy.
President Nixon (R): Well, there was that little matter of Watergate and all.
President Ford (R): Do you believe a former Manson (Not Marilyn) follower shot at point blank range on a Golf Course and still managed to miss him?
Jimmy Carter (D): Well, how does the fact he was a Peanut Farmer strike you?
Reagan(R): Well, it might seem tasteless but alot of comedians pick on this former president's current mental state.
President Bush Sr. (R): He puked all over a Japanese dignitary!
President Clinton (D): Monica Lewinsky, need I say more.[/glow]

So in your opinion, anyone who quits "cold turkey" really didn't quit? Why don't you quit hating the man...

I dont hate Bush because of his alcoholism... Its just that it is mst worthy.
If he wasnt in politics then I would be more apt to trust that he quit. I can never really trust them; democrat, republican, indpendent or green. You just have to pick the lessor evil. Question every admistration is my policy.

Personally, I think the whole d.u.i thing is no big deal. If thats the worst dirt they can come up with then thats not bad. In fact sounds like most people I know.
oh, and yes people can quit without help.

In fact sounds like most people I know. oh, and yes people can quit without help. Well its not the worst thing they have pulled on him. Its just a "thing". Im sure he doesnt turn to Jim Beam every time he stresses out to find answers, but the fact is he has never dealt with the emotions involved with alcoholism. There was a reason he turned to the bottle in the first place. You need help to fully recover from alcoholism, you cant just stop being emotionally dependent. If something terrible were to happen in his life, he'd most likely go back to the bottle. Theres a medical term for this that I can't remember. But I digress, perhaps Im getting way too into this. Perhaps it isn't time to joke about his flaws at this point and time. I didn't mean to get anyone upset. Just a comment lacking tact to fit the topic.
