Ah, but jaded. THAT"S the key! While lacking in years compared to you Phantom, I believe I've gotten the hang of the bitter and jaded thing. Of course, I had to add my own twist of not giving a damn to it. But, in response to you Forrest, people are vicious. Everyone is. It's like natural selection nowadays, you can't just be nice anymore because people take advantage of it. I see it everyday teaching 10th grade. But, up his, karma's a bitch, Servo

Okay. So I'm at school. The bell is about to ring from 5th period. So, I'm ready to go out the door. This short balck guy named Derrel, cuts in front of me, ramming his elbow into my ribs. I was holding the door open for him by the way. Then I grab his back pack, and I said: "Whoa, what the hell?" And so then, he gets his leather jacket that he was carrying over his shoulder, and he slams it onto my hand. The jacket's zipper cut my hand, and there was lots of change in his pocket, so it felt like a ton of bricks when it hit my hand. Then he ran away. Now I have a big bruise on my hand, and a cut. I couldn't use my hand for the next hour, and I'm even struggling typing this. Ok...so, what the hell did I do to deserve that? I felt like beating him up so bad, but my friends held me back. I'm glad they did, becuase at my school, you can get expelled for one fight. But, once again....what drives someone to hurt someone else, who is holding the door open for them? I know what you mean. When I was in 7th grade walking in the hall, some 8th grader up and decked me in the face. It turns out he only did it because I walked in front of him while he was walking.

I don't know if it's just the old coot in me but generally I think people are getting worse. I totally agree with you PE and you know I'm a cooter too. I lived in New York City in the 80's and I live here now and though there is defin. less crime since Travis Bickle...uh, I mean Rudy G. took over, people are much worse. Scary

LMAO! Wow, someone more bitter than phantom and I combined! I'd like to claim I more bitter and certainly more turgid than anybody on this board, but my life is good right now. Nobody f**ks with a guy who owns a cannon. Hee, Hee.

Well I've never laid claim to being turgid so you got me there. But if your life is good right now that could have an effect on your bitterness. And you never claimed to be jaded so I've got that on you. But I'm not sure how jaded stakes up with turgid. I think this raises more questions than it answers. But you do get credit for the cannon. I have a Cannon camera but it's just not the same.

Unfortunately, it isn't just the kids anymore. Just yesterday, I was taking my dog for a walk, and he runs up and starts sniffing a tree on the edge of someone's front yard. I tug him away and suddenly, a middle-aged dumpy guy in his underwear opens the front door and snarls "Clean it the F*CK up!". I stop in my tracks and respond with a startled "Pardon me?". He growls "Clean the F*CKING poopie up!". I said as firm as I could "He did not poopie, thank you very much." and before I could inform him that he had no business talking to me like that, he slinked back in his house. Whatever happened to a simple "Hello" or "Good morning" from people?

My strategy in highschool was don't talk and keep a scowl on your face and no one will bother you. The only thing is they have to believe the scowl. Just watch Clint Eastwood and Beat Takeshi movies and you'll get it down. No one will mess with you.
The only problem is the scowl never leaves and everyone will think you're constantly angry, but still no one messes with you. Its a fair trade.

It doesn't work when you're 5'5" unfortunately. The power of personality destroys all height limits. You just gotta believe.
