Servo, stay out of it. This is an argument for Midwestern Football, where football was born for America. And if the NFL is pathetic, explain why its still soaring today. College ball is great too, you like 'bama, I like the Wisconsin Badgers, it's all where you come from. Top that hot shot spitoon! Where football was born for America? My ass. Look at college football, which was around before the NFL, and look at where it started. The Northeast. Look at where most of the national championships are. The Southeast. I wasn't trying to piss on you parade, but, I was just making a case for my team. And, believe it or not, the NFL is just not as watched as it once was. You, being in Wisconsin, just happen to have one of those teams that continually packs out the stadium. That's a rare occurence in the NFL nowadays. No topping to be done, Servo

You know that Football was known to have been formed in England, in the 19th century, football was invented their per say but I am saying that the sport becoming a phenomenom when it rose in the blue collar factories teams in the 20's. Yes the sport was popular with college but it didn't get that mainstream success till 1960. The NFL was formed in Canton, Ohio, the midwest (doing!) and football mainstream popularity spread. All I am saying is that in the 1800's, the game was rough and more like tag or stickball, when these midwestern football organizations conformed, professionalism came in to the game and effeciency too. If the NFL didn't form, college football wouldn't have either albeit. topped a la mode

Plus, my NFL team is the only one to ever go undefeated for a whole season, the Miami Dolphins. Servo Yeah, a 12 game season and a really light schedule. But they did do it.

Yeah, a 12 game season and a really light schedule. But they did do it. Ummmm, my friend, I'm going to respond to you first. They went 17-0 that season. You must have forgotten the last 5 games. And, ummm, a light schedule wasn't an option back then, most teams were tough. Larry Csonka and Co. took down everyone. Word. Servo

What I'm saying is, yes, I know football was first formed in England, I'm not a complete moron. Secondly, if I get this right, what your saying is that college football wasn't popular until the NFL formed? Ever heard of Knute Rockne? The Four Horsemen? Perhaps Roger Staubach? People were flocking to college football games WAAAAYYYYYY before the NFL even formed. Hell, Alabama won 4 or 5 (can't recall) of their national championships (disputed or not) BEFORE 1960. The NFL rose out of the popularity of college football, which, in America, dates back to 1888 when Princeton won the first college national championship and, they had won before that, but, I start at 1888 because that's when 12 or 13 game seasons became regular. I'm from Alabama. Football is life. I know it. I live it. Topped. Checked. Whatever. Servo

The NFL rose out of the popularity of college football, Servo Right about that. For a long time college football was the big thing and the NFL struggled along.
