I love the workprint name: MANOS: THE FINGERS OF FATE The comparisons are really striking. Kinda worried about it being a "limited run". Like, internet only for a limited time? I hope I'm paying attention when it goes on sale! He has a bunch more than Manos, too. Like Atomic Brain and Hamlet. I hope this is successful enough that he'll restore those too! e: What about the Torgo Lives (http://www.torgolives.com) people? Didn't they say they had access to the original print from Joe Warren and were working on a restoration of their own?

It's a crappy movie but at least you can see it in great detail.

The BD screen looks mighty sharp. But I'm not sure I want to sink money in another copy of Manos. It's very tempting.

As the premier MST3k fan message board on the internet, we should petition the maker to let us do a commentary track for him.

As the premier MST3k fan message board on the internet, we should petition the maker to let us do a commentary track for him. It might be a cool idea. I doubt he'd refuse if we agreed to record it ourselves. Although we would have to riffing the film cause I think its already been done .

As the premier MST3k fan message board on the internet, we should petition the maker to let us do a commentary track for him. I had a different thought. On the Kickstarter page, if you pledge $2000 or more: Maybe one of the Brains would be interested in doing this, if fans raised the stake money?

Maybe one of the Brains would be interested in doing this, if fans raised the stake money? Mike is actually a member on the Something Awful forums and posted in the Manos restoration thread. Ben (the guy doing the restoration) seems to have indicated he's been in touch with Mike directly, and possibly other Rifftrax/CT guys, but I think he's keeping mum on details until everything is finalized. I love how the kickstarter has only been active for about two or three days, and it's already near its goal of $10,000. Hopefully a good deal more gets raised, as he's got a list of things he'd like to use any extra money on: * A 2K to 35mm film-out preservation negative, which will also enable us to strike new 35mm prints. * The production of an audio commentary with surviving members of the original cast. * A documentary covering the restoration process, to be used as a Blu-ray extra feature.

There'll be a DVD version, although it probably won't have as much bonus material.

I'm totally on board for a ZaAt blu-ray with tons of extras explaining exactly how much crystal meth they were doing on set. my commentary for "the last house on dead end street" is totally about nothing but the fact that they were all drunk and on crystal meth for the entire shooting of the film. and let me say, every penny they spent on meth ended up right on the screen, so that was money well spent.
