Radiohead. The one band that is impossible to have an original opinion about. Everything that could possibly be said about these 5 brits has been said. Either hailed as geniuses with many literary references, or pretentious artsy-fartsies.
What do you think of them?

I'm so tired of these guys being compared to Pink Floyd. They are not, nor will they ever be, as good as Pink Floyd. They don't play solos, Thom Yorke is not as good a vocalist as everyone makes him out to be, and I'm so sick of hearing about "Oh, they play so many different chords, it's amazing". No, it's not. Zappa did the same thing and played solos and never got any damn respect. These guys need to get over themselves and those who love them need to listen to some real prog rock like Yes, ELP, or Zappa.
Just my opinion,
Servo

I love their first two albums Bends and Paranoid Android, but after that they got too artsy fartsy.

I love their first two albums Bends and Paranoid Android, but after that they got too artsy fartsy. I like Pablo Honey, because it rocks. I don't even think they're trying to be artsy as much as they're trying to be weird so people will listen to them and talk about how "different" they are. Servo

I didn't care for them when they were smack in the middle of the "mid-90s alternative let's sound like Pearl Jam" pack. I freely admit it wasn't their fault, they just came out with about a hundred bands that sounded alike.
Then "OK Computer" came out. I still believe it measures up to all of the hype.
They gradually lost me with "Kid A" and "Amnesiac". I could appreciate them on a pretentious musician level; I just didn't like the songs.
"Hail to the Thief" is a great return to form. It has its meandering moments, but it's almost as if they sat down and decided to write actual songs again. One of the only albums I bought in 2003 that got better with each listen.
I don't bow at their altar, but I think they are better than most bands out there today. I would have voted, but that last sentence wasn't an option.

I feel completely different than everyone else... I thought early Radiohead was so so indie brit pop (whatever) and really liked the so called "arty" (I thought it was just moody and dark, but hey, I'm moody and dark) Kid A and Amensiac. So I can't vote here because I liked when they got weird and it's the very boring normal POLITICAL anti-american sham of a new album (forgot the title--I gave it away) I dislike. Pink Floyd? They're turning into another U2, the arrogant wankers... Now, they think they're so IMPORTANT

I would rather hammer my teeth out of my skull and then gargle with battery acid than be assaulted with the deplorable muck that is Radiohead. I prefer to call them Radio-whine or Happy Mr. Sneeze Face.

Yeah, I suppose I left the option field a bit narrow (I couldn't even vote either!!). I would say that I like their catalog of music, but in terms of great bands, I'm going to steal Torgo's line and make a bit of a substitution: They are no Flaming Lips.

What was the Radiohead video called that had the lead singer sitting in a shopping cart singing into the camera? He was being pushed around by someone off camera. I seem to remember liking that song. It was kind of haunting. But then again, I may have just ingested......um, wait, never mind that......I did like the song, tho.

I don't know. Radiohead's okay. I only have one of their albums; I don't listen to it much for I have about sixty other ones.
However. . .

Just what is this "rock" you speak of? It's a big hard thing you find outside.
