I won't get excited till: 1 I hear what episodes. 2 And more importantly if it will have good extras. Because if there are no extras and my fan copies are good I doubt I will buy it.

I knew we'd be hearing an announcement soon. I can't wait to hear the official episode list!

309 Amazing Colossal Man 408 Hercules Unchained 414 Tormented Assignment Venezula what do u guys think? There's no guarantee they have the DVD rights to 309 Amazing Colossal Man. The VHS deal is likely expired. Assignment:Venezuela would be great but if they do another standard shorts collection it will be another reason for me to pass.

Yeah the shorts are really starting to piss me off. Give us a episode. It's not like these things are cheap 50 bucks and over sometimes jeez. I would like if they brought some of season one out and Puma man but that is not going to happen.

I hope they'll include my all-time favorite episode "The Screaming Skull" (It's public domain, so why not?) and the only remaining Coleman Francis episode "The Beast of Yucca Flats".

I also hate the shorts (as single releases, fine. But in sets. Hell no!) And I'd only want "Assignment Venezuela" if they cleaned it up (remove time code, balance the sound) and added it as an extra!
I wrote Barb asking about potential extras like bumpers and MST Hour segments. She said that they (BBI) gave Rhino everything they have.
So if Rhino's got it why don't they use them?
Anyway, I'm always excited about this kind of news. I always hope for the best. As for speculation, heck I'm going all out and list my top 4 epsodes not on DVD...
Jack Frost Santa Claus Beast of Yucca Flats Night of the Blood Beast
This would be my dream set.

But the problem is that Rhino knows that if they released shorts as singles, people would skip them in favor of movies While nice to know next volume is on the way, this isn't helping my get the single releases.

Hasn't Rhino released unmsted versions of "Magic Sword" and "Ring of Terror"? I would think the would be easy for them to get out. But I don't completely grasp all the thorny rights issues.

I wonder if sometimes special agreements have to be made to secure an MST3K episode rather than just the film itself. My guess is some companies (*cough* Sandy Frank) have a problem with releasing their property being subjected to mockery rather than just the film itself being released. Other companies, I imagine, see the situation only through numbers and couldn't care less if the film in question is being ravaged or not, as long as they get the paycheck. It's probably just Rhino being lazy, though. Save the special Assignment: Venezuela, Volume 6 marked the end of Rhino's ability to throw shorts reels on a disc to make up for one less episode, so I'm not so worried about that. Unless they start producing their OWN compilations...Uggh. Then again, what is the likelihood of that and how many shorts are left, anyway? I never had a problem with the shorts discs (or tapes), but I found them to be rather pointless, and am not crying over their end.

Jack Frost Santa Claus Beast of Yucca Flats Night of the Blood Beast This would be my dream set. We need a Russo-Finnish ep. It's the only genre Rhino hasn't given us. And I'd also run, not walk, run to the store to buy this if "Night of the Blood Beast" is in it. My guess: 3 new eps and a double dip. Maybe "I Accuse My Parents" or "Eegah". Here's my dream set (ruling out the Godzilla & Sandy Frank eps...boo!): The Day The Earth Froze Fire Maidens From Outer Space Girls Town Night of the Blood Beast But any of those 4 would make me happy. Unless the other 3 were Mad Monster, The Dead Talk Back, and The Incredibly Strange Creatures... That would suck.

Absolutely, the Russo and Season 7 need to have representation. I wouldn't mind your foursome at all. Every episode's a favorite and would make for a great set. I liked the last collection very much, but they were all B+ level eps for me. I want some A's this time out. (I know that's subjective) But any one of the Russo-Finish productions would satisfy that need.

I really enjoyed the last set, but the shorts kinda killed it for me. I just never watch the damn things. I’m hoping for 4 regular episodes with no double dipping. Extras would be a huge incentive, but I’ll probably buy it regardless, just so long as there’s no double dipping. My predictions are –
The Screaming Skull Night of the Blood Beast King Dinosaur Hercules against the Moon Men

This should be in the Rhino update thread. I'll just close this topic quietly.
