Well I can handle it being on backorder, I'm patient. I just want to make sure that I get it before they decide to pull the plug for good. I hate to tell you but "backorder" frequently turns into "out of stock." You might want to cancel your order and find it elsewhere. To me the sellers at Amazon are a good bet.

Well they haven't told me that it was on backorder yet. They say that the estimated delivery date is Nov. 10th-20th. Do you think I should still cancel it?

I kept my original online order (on backorder) in until I had one off the shelf in my hands. I was ready to buy from Amazon but I came across one at a store first. That's when I canceled my order.
Funny, I still haven't gotten confirmation on the cancelation.

If there is no comment from Rhino about the elimination of Vol. 10, then how do we know what the problem is (was)? Rhino likely won't make a "press announcement" for their botch job. The fact that the set is no longer listed at their website, and is dissapearing from DVD stores all over... is a pretty good indication. That and, from the very start, this set was not going to last long because of the rights not being properly secured. I think it's very likely Rhino *will* reissue Volume 10, just with a different episode in place of #212. They need to use their heads and release a few PD-only movie episodes in the next sets.

Finally got confirmation back today. He said his supplier has a ton of them in their warehouse, but aren't allowed to ship. If you have one on back order somewhere, I'm not sure I'd risk waiting.

Yeah, there was still no word on whether or not they were going to ship it. Amazon said that the delivery date was supposed to be the 10th-20th, but I was afraid to wait. I canceled it and picked one off of one of the sellers on Amazon. Thanks for the help guys. If you hadn't put the fear of missing out in me I might have waited and really missed out, lol.

I guess I hadn't put that in my last few posts, but it's where I had my Vol. 10 order in (I put it in very shorly after I heard that Vol. 10 had disappeared from the Info Club and Rhino site). I was strongly considering going through a seller at Amazon, but I found one at Best Buy first. It was DVDplayground.com that said their supplier had some in the warehouse, but weren't allowed to ship any of them. Maybe Rhino is still fighting for the rights and they won't destroy those sets or ship them to consumers until the dispute is resolved one way or the other. May be why there hasn't been any kind of official statement.

Botheration.
Have to say...not been one for the whole 'Rhino doesn't care' thing, but I'm heading that way...

To be honest i wouldn't start yelling at Rhino about this because the set is still available at stores like Borders who are selling them for 50 bucks instead of 60. Also, the set was released and we have no idea if it is out of print yet since there has been no official word from Rhino. It is very possible that the person who liscensed the Godzilla movie thought they had the rights but maybe didn't. It's hard to say. I'm not mad at Rhino yet because when i heard that Godzilla was on the set, i made sure i got a copy the first day it was released.

I don't even think we need official word from Rhino, at this point. All the signs point to the set either being cancelled or indefinitely and awkwardly delayed. Either way, I'd be surprised if we ever see anymore shipments of 10 with the same 4-episode configuration.

Crap, I ordered it on the 28th, it shipped on the 30th, but still hasn't arrived. It said to allow 4-14 business days for arrival, but I'm getting worried. If I wait the next week and it turns out they never shipped it or it got lost, then I'm not sure there will be any sets left to buy in the stores.

Where did you order it from if you don't mind me asking?

Sorry for the double post but I just noticed that the sellers on Amazon are getting crazy. Volume 10 is up as high as $120 from what I could see. I'm glad I got there just in time to get it for $43. I just hope it shows up. They say they shipped it and they took their money, so it better get here, lol.

Phew! I got it in the mail today. It was from Caimon Media or something like that, an Amazon seller. Looks like I ordered mine just in time before it became scarce.
