If they have the rights to the Godzilla film, there's no reason they shouldn't be allowed to put a screencap from that movie on the box. At least, I don't think so. I could be wrong.

I went to FYE yesterday and picked up Vol. 10 for a lot more than I'm used to paying for these sets, but with all the uncertainty and the fact that Godzilla vs. Megalon and Teenage Strangler are 2 personal faves, I didn't want to delay any longer. I could have gambled with an online retailer, but if this thing is going to end up being a collectible, then I guess it's worth the extra cash.
I would hope Rhino learns a lesson from this fiasco. I'll go through it this time, but I don't like the idea of a "time sensitive" box set release.

Anything think that maybe one of the songs in the Jukebox had the problem? I know the songs are owned by Best Brains but there maybe be a line in one of the songs that had the problem (Like the ACEG says about the Orville Popcorn skit). Or maybe it's that skit.

Yes I though of that especially the Werewolf song were they show a picture of the movie during the song. I wonder if that is problem or not.

Well it apparently wasn't a problem when BBI released their mail order version. But then I guess the Best Brains fan members catalog doesn't command enough attention to make anyone pay notice.

wow, I need to check this part of the forum more often. I was clueless about this until it was mentioned on the Home Theater Forum yesterday. Although I did start to wonder when I couldn't find it on DDD when putting together my sale order.
Fortunately I found one at Circuit City tonight.
If the problem is one of the films and not the box art, I, for one, hope the do NOT reissue it with one replaced movie. I do not want to have to double-dip on three experiments just to get one new one.

You know, when I first got into MST3k, it was right after "The Essentials" was released, and when I fist got to this forum I heard a fair deal of kvetching about "double dipping," and I thought "god, what crybabies." Suddenly I find myself eating my words. And it isn't delicious, like say, a steak. More like rotten soy beans. Blech.

I just picked up a copy today at Borders. They are closing them out at a "promotional discount" of 20% off in case anyone is interested.

No. I highly doubt that popcorn company cares about a little parody on a long off-the-air cable puppet show. It doesn't mention them directly by name, and if they didn't say anything back when it was on TV.. they aren't going to say anything now. As for Werewolf, BBI knew what it was doing. They don't have to buy the rights to a whole movie just for a 10 second (or less) clip. Again, the chances of the little company that owns this movie caring about a few second clip in a bonus section is slim to none. Actually, Werewolf is a likely choice for an upcoming box set. Godzilla is the one biggie on the whole set; there's no reference to Toho, or to the fact Godzilla is copyrighted. What I suspect to be the real reason is that Krypton bought the rights from Gaiem when Goodtimes was selling off its movie library, and Toho didn't "ok" the transaction. Whatever the deal is, the set is going out of print.. at least temporarily.

Yeah, let's not keep bringing that up. It's unnecessarily antagonistic, and we don't even know that he's actually responsible.
