Cduniverse now has Volume 1 back in stock ($41.75). The availability says it ships in 1-2 days. Amazon doesn't yet have it and EBAY sellers are still listing it as 'out of print.'
* #9 is still backordered. *
* Amazon now has #1 in stock for $53.99. *

EXCELLENT! ;D Ordered my copy, and on the way! I had bought #1 when it first came out, but a few moves over the past couple of years had rendered me without it somehow...

They are reasonably priced but just a bit slow in shipping.

...and what weird is that Satellite News hasn't mentioned Vol. 1 being back in print. At least not yet.

That announcement was back in March, though. I think krokodyle was talking about SN making a new news item, now that, 6 months later, the reprint has actually occurred.

Granted, the official site is regarding a show that's been canceled for years now , but they are usually good about posting release info. And one would assume that they were told (from Rhino, I would imagine), but maybe there was a communication breakdown. It's not like I am "angry" about mst3kinfo not mentioning it, it's just odd that they didn't post info about the reissue being finalized, or a street date, or vendor shipping status. It's not a big deal. I'm just happy I've been able to replace my missing set. Since I don't have my original for comparison, I don't know if there is any difference in the original and the "reissue". But since I believe this simply involved re-negotiating rights (is this correct?) it's possible these "new" sets are just the old sets that had been pulled, or sitting in Rhino's warehouse.

I figured it was finally back in print when I noticed that the last time it sold on ebay was only for like 30 bucks or so. Yay, but I'll still be missing volume 9

It will just be a reprinting after Rhino renewed the rights with Crown International (as far as I know). So it should be the same packaging, though I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it like they did with Vol. 2.

I thought I heard that the packing was streamlined for the reissue. Does it still have the fancy all-singing all-dancing stuff you can move on the cover?

You know, the funny thing is that my copy of Vol. 1 came with the little wheel in the front broken, as well as the rocket ship. So, when I reinforced the corners on the box, I just taped over the rocket, so it'll be able to be organized better. The rocket kept catching on the other boxed sets. I'm very fortunate. I have every single MST boxed set, even Vol. 10, which I got about three days after its release. I really do hope they re-issue it, because it's an awesome set.
Out of curiosity, with so many of the boxed sets discontinued, which ones are still available?

I'm curious, what is different about the re-packaging of vol. 2? Can somebody please post a pic?
