Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I did a board search and couldn't find a mention anywhere. Amazon now has a pre-order up for a 4th Film Crew release, The Giant of Marathon, due October 9:
I didn't even know there was a 4th release coming out anytime soon.

There were 4 made at the time. The film Crew website asked for you to vote for which one you wanted released first. Hollywood After Dark won. Obviously Giant Of Marathon came last.

The big question is, then, what comes fifth?

Oh how I'd love to see them do Attack of the Crab Monsters or the Giant Claw.

Fingers crossed there is a fifth, Killers From Space was fantastic! Hopefully they have sold well enough that they consider it a venture to continue.

They have sold very well and the Film Crew is really great. However, these movies were made a few years ago, and I don't know if the guys have since moved on to Rifftrax and other things. Hopefully, the strong sales will encourage them to make more. I hope so.

[glow=red,2,300]Posted by Bob Honcho himself over at the Rifftrax forum on March 29, 2007[/glow] Hi, there,
Bob Honcho here. Just wanted to let all you fans of Mike, Kevin, and Bill that The Film Crew is NOT dead. Four DVDs are slated for 2007 release and if those do well, there will be more to come.
We at Shout! Factory are big fans of Mike, Kevin and Bill's wherever it appears. MST, RiffTrax, The Film Crew: it's all good. We hope that you agree!
Best,
A Shout! Factory employee

Best,
A Shout! Factory employee Well, that's great, great news! I didn't see that post when it appeared in... March? Wow... Now they just need to work on those host segments, and get them in 'non-puppet' mode Personally, I like having host segments (it's nice to have a break for a few minutes) and I believe they could make them really great. But something needs to change. In any case, back to the original thread subject, my copy of "Giant of..." came in the mail a few days ago. Going to give it a watch this weekend. Sounds like an early, poor-man's "300".

Except it has an even greater obsession with muffiny man-muscles sensuosly contorting and sliding all over other muffiny man-muscles. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

I did manage to watch "Giant..." this weekend, and I was very impressed, the riffing was spot-on and had many LOL moments. This may be, possibly, my favorite of the FC releases so far. Sounds like an early, poor-man's "300". Except it has an even greater obsession with muffiny man-muscles sensuosly contorting and sliding all over other muffiny man-muscles. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) And an unprecedented number of marble man-genitals! I know it's ancient Greece, but jeez! There were female statues as well back then... On the plus side, as bad as this movie was, it appears they did have some sort of budget. The water battle at the end wasn't half-bad, as far as this genre goes...

Well, I'm happy. Yes, I'd like to see more host segments with more props, but the riffing was really funny, and I loved the extras. Keep it up film crew!

Absolutely. Philippides[sic] running the most famous run in Western history--so famous we still talk about it thousands of years later--and Mike says, "Big deal, the Kenyans are miles ahead." That is one of my favorite riffs of all-time; including MST & Rifftrax.

I agree, I just netflix'd the disc and the riffing was great (what I was able to hear, a 10 month old can sometimes drown out riffing). It's between this and Killers From Space for my favorite of the Film Crew Discs.

"You mean he really isn't Hercules?" "No, Kevin"
I enjoyed it as much as the other 4 for the most part, the host segments were pretty funny too. My only gripe is that Shout Factory used such a piss-poor source for the movie itself. It's so washed-out, fuzzy (obviously taken from a VHS), and cropped (1.85:1 instead of 2.35:1)... plus it doesn't have English credits.
Anyhow, I'd love to see more get made... though their selection will be limited to PD movies only I think.
