I've been kicking this around for a few days now. Wondering, which is the best tv movie pilot for a series or linked together episodes of a failed tv series that mst has done. I'm not talking about the merit of the source itself, but rather the combined comedy of MST unleashed on those episodes.

Obvious choice for me. Love the "Lazy Rider/Buffalo Bill" duo!

I agree with the Ben Murphy wanna-be on this one

I have to agree with the majority so far. Ben Murphy, Jim Stafford, Abby, Dr. Hale, Robert Denby, and death.
What a great combination.

Robert Denby is so elusive though........ But not as elusive as Ben Murphy obviously. Ahhh, what the hell am I saying, neither of them could elude a 4 year old while playing freeze tag.

The Fugitive Alien series was a gut-wrenching riot. It's got my vote.

I cast a sympathy vote for Stranded In Space, even though I've never seen it.

I cast a sympathy vote for Stranded In Space, even though I've never seen it. Do sympathy votes count? Stranded In Space isn't really very good.

There are a couple more that you left out. Time of the Apes was a bunch of TV episodes in Japan merged together. Depending on who you ask, it was all four episodes of a short-lived series, or episodes 1,2, 15 and 30 of the series. The Legend of Dinosaurs was a Japanese TV movie. Superdome and SST Death Flight were TV movies. Of these, I don't think any of them except Time of the Apes are worth mentioning. I voted for Manhunt in Space/Crash of the Moons for two reasons: Winky, one of the biggest losers in all of MiSTiedom, and the song "The Gypsy Moons."

The Gypsy Moons song was great. I loved that. Admittedly, missed the Time of the Apes bit. However, if the others were simply tv movies then they don't quite count the same. Stranded in Space was a failed pilot for series so it gets conditional consideration.
